I’ve seen it. I’m not a huge fan of war movies but if Midway is 4 stars then I’d give Greyhound 2.

It’s almost empty, even if you can’t get enough Hanks. I have atv+ free for a year and have only really liked Dickenson, Servent, and the Helpsters.

Love Spielberg most of the time but found amazing stories far too boring.

There’s zero chance I would pay for ATV+ ever.

Are you using HDMI Out (Main) for video and HDMI Out (Audio Only) for audio? If so, then it may not work. I only tried it one time with a couple of devices, video worked, audio did not. Works fine for disc, network and USB content. You could feed your other Oppo into it to see if it works for you.

Is the difference between viewing 23.976 and 24 frames per second really that noticeable without actively looking out for frame drops?
Some see it, many do not. Open Netflix, search Test Patterns, select Season 1, then try Episode 1 (23.976), Episode 2 (24) and Episode 3 (25). Mostly a static pattern but there is a black dot making a circle. If your device and display does frame rate matching then the black dot motion will be smooth. If not and you are sensitive to frame drops then the black dot motion will look like stop action animation.

As you already know, once learned, can’t unlearn.

A few months ago we started watching The Valhalla Murders (25 frame per second) on the Nvidia. There was a long shoot of a car moving left to right and it looked like the car was hopping from one spot to the next. Took several tries before the better half could see what I was trying to show her. Switched to the Sony UBP-X1000 and it was fine because it outputs original frame rates. The Nvidia has the Match Frame Rate app installed now it works well with Netflix and others, may have to pause or restart some Amazon content for it work correct.

I love war films and I agree with you. It lacked soul for me. Technically competent but just missing that vital ingredient.

I still want to see it. Tom Hanks deserves the benefit of the doubt.

If it proves to be a movie, then it's only 90 minutes wasted and a few pennies squandered. My purchase will still support physical media and that's always a worthwhile activity.

Today is the last day of my self isolation! No symptoms of any kind!

Tomorrow I am cut loose upon the world... and I will be mostly sheltering in place. At least that place is well stocked with lots of entertainment.

It is exciting to see that the Back To The Future trilogy on 4K disc has an October 20, 2020 release date. It is currently priced at $70 for either edition.

There is a nice steelbook option at Best Buy while the other release includes a toy hoverboard.

Yes, I use both HDMI outputs with video routed directly to my TV and audio to my legacy AVR; "legacy" the nice way to say old and outdated.

Maybe JohnAV will wake up and definitively tell me whether or not I could get immersive audio by connecting a dedicated streaming device to my Oppo 203's HDMI input- once I upgrade my AVR.

Tough decision. I avoid steelbooks but I don’t want the toy. At least I have time to decide

I know this isn't really the thread for this, but I trust the opinion of the regulars on here. I'm thinking of purchasing one of the new Vizio TV's being released on August 2nd. I am torn between the 75" P-Series Quantum X and the 65" OLED. There are no reviews for either unit yet, but they are both $2000. The P-Series Quantum X is supposed to be one of the brightest HDR TV's on the market. The OLED uses the same LG panel used in the LG and Sony units, so it is great quality for a much better price.

I'm leaning towards the 75" Quantum X just because it is bigger and I like the thought of eye searing HDR. But would OLED be the better way to go for the perfect blacks? I have never seen OLED in use apart from displays in stores which is a poor way to judge picture performance. How much worse is the best LCD compared to OLED?

Nice looking set, but I only like the first film.
I'm guessing Universal is forcing people to buy the trilogy just like with Jurassic park.
Universal has never released the Back to the Future films by themselves, not even for blu-ray. Its pretty much the only favorite film of mine I don't own, for that reason.

I wonder if we start getting Vizio TVs after the trade deal with U.S?

For perfect blacks there is nothing come close to OLED.

You can always sell off the digital codes to lower your net cost.

And who doesn't want a genuine hoverboard?

Only you can decide how important perfect blacks are to you; I find that blacks look excellent on my Sony TV, but "excellent" is not perfect.

On the other hand, when it comes to obtaining dazzling brights I love my Sony FALD LED TV. You feel like you need to wear sun block at times.

I would not underestimate how much enjoyment you get from a larger screen, either. My 85" screen wows me constantly and far more than black levels do.

I can't recommend the Vizio only because, like you, I have never seen it or read a review of it.

When you buy a TV picking a retailer that allows for easy returns and exchanges is helpful as until you get a TV in your home you can't really evaluate how well it works for you and your viewing environment.

You'll be thrilled with an OLED, so that is a safe bet. If that's what you really want I'd save up for the 77" model and not give up a single square inch of screen real estate.

Don't forget to have your new TV calibrated and remember that sapiendut offers worldwide service.

Past Vizio TV's have received excellent ratings for their price. I have a 1080p 3D Vizio that I got in 2012 and it still looks great. $2000 is about the max I can spend on a TV so that rules out any bigger OLED's. My LG 4K has pretty grey blacks but so far it hasn't bothered me too much. Of course, that is without direct comparison to an OLED. Supposedly the black levels on the Quantum series are supposed to be among the best for LCD screens.

I may end up doing what you suggest and try them both then return the one I can live without.

If I inherent a large sum of money before I pass on then I would like a large display made up of Sony's Crystal LED panels, info here. Watch the short video.
