The first Freeway is great, the second one is pretty wild and still good, more like a weird dark trashy fairy tale

I've got it on DVD, which despite being the correct movie, has photos on the back cover of the third installment, including your avatar.

"HUGE UPDATE: FREEWAY II:
Tonight Dark Force had a private screening of the #5 Deluxe Single's Edition blu-ray of FREEWAY II: Confessions of a Trickbaby at the new Dark Force headquarters in West Hollywood California and here's what we have to report:
First it looks freakin' A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! The transfer from the original negative came out fantastic. Great colors and contrast. The movie itself is freakin' awesome! This is definitely the un-cut theatrical version with lots of gore, violence and nudity. Forgot how edgy and bad ass this movie is. Next the sound is mind blowing. It is DTS HD 2.0 stereo sound and definitely the best audio of ANY Dark Force release thus far. Finally the extras kick ass. Props to Stephen "Frankie" Wozniak and the cult icon Damon Packard for doing a great job on the Bright and Hanley interviews. Dark Force is going to go on the record and state that THIS IS OUR BIGGEST AND BEST RELEASE TO DATE! This one will definitely escalate Dark Force into the stars. We will have more on availability all week as we head towards the July 31 street date. And all next weekend will be FREEWAY WEEKEND here at Dark Force as we plan to blow this one to the moon! Trust us you WILL NOT want to miss this one for your cult collection, so help us Lord of Darkness. Sincerely, Dark Force Entertainment

The movies actually are inspired by/very loosely based on fairy tales- the first by Red Riding Hood, the second by Hansel and Gretel.

What is Damon Packard's claim to fame? David Hess was a cult icon. David Warbeck was a cult icon. What have I seen Packard in?

According to Walt, Packards claim to fame is repeatedly starting the same gofundme to finish a movie, but using the money to pay his rent instead.

Massacre Video are releasing one of his movies. I'm interested to see it. I thought the whole "cult director" thing is just Dave goofing on Bills love for him.

Or maybe it's a stipulation that Packard be called an icon in all press materials. Maybe he a gangsta

I first heard about him when I watched his Star Wars mockumentary (which is hilarious, by the way).

Packard became a cult icon with his magnum opus 2-hour+ feature, Reflections of Evil!

His other films are pretty wild, too.

While we're discussing Howling and Amityville sequels, does anyone know where the rights might lie for Howling: New Moon Rising? It was the 7th installment and received a brief VHS run but is perhaps better know for its inclusion in one of the most memorable episode of MonsterVision with Joe Bob Briggs who gave really hilarious and fascinating insight into its oddball making.

Good call! I'm willing to bet WB let their rights lapse long ago. I'll talk to DF about this...

I used to intensely dislike all the Howling sequels but put them in a nice box set and completely remaster the films and I'll be very happy. Strange how this works. I'll also take a nice Amityville DTV compilation.

i love the Howling series. they each have something special/insane about them. IV is kind of pedestrian, but then it has that one scene where the dude melts. so cool.
