Thanks for the Flawless run on Crota tonight jsteinhauer, CarlsbergAdam, NecroSadistic28 and ScarletKnight71. I was finally able to get my Platinum on Destiny after a more than a year of playing.

Finally I get a 320 armor to drop!! Of course its for the reject lock so I sent it over to my Titan

Nice, Im still missing flawless and the crucible one for the plat.

Indeed! Thanks to all of you. I still need 11 salvage points and a full Hunter subclass. I feel like a Crota veteran now, with two regular mode and one hard mode victory. I'd be happy to do it again for the free motes. I probably only have 1000, if I cash all of the old materials in. And it took less time than a Nightfall strike.

Bodyslide and Krimson, I am seriously sorry for bailing on you, but I was already just waiting for a phone call from the wife before turning in, and she called while we were playing, so I was up a good while later than planned as it was. I wanted to stay, but I have to function today. You catch me at the same time later this week any other time but tonight, and I'll stick it out longer.

And hey, whoever I was talking about fireworks with the other night, maybe it was for Homecoming? Don't know why that came to me.

Two fresh Hard mode runs yesterday, both got to Oryx.

However, unable to defeat him. Gonna have to try that new strategy from Reddit.

Made it up to 311 at least.

I don't think anyone from the forum has beat him, yet, unless Kenkeith's team did it.

I think I'm going to start playing the Titan instead of the Warlock, because a Warlock is about useless in this raid.

If the alternate method is cheesy, do it quick, because they will patch it for sure.

I was shocked that my usual guys and I couldn't beat it. We made it to Oryx in an hour, thought everything would be cake, then spent two failing to beat him. One guy dying is a wipe 99% of the time.

The alternate strat involves not killing the ogres until Oryx is staggered and using the platform the Deathsingers are on to avoid adds during the battle.

All of the videos I have seen of hard Oryx are using that method. Most are also utilizing a Titan bubble on the platform and with the shade as well

Haven't tried oryx yet. Waiting for everyone to be 310+. I'm 311 warlock. 309 Hunter/Titan.

Yea, I just saw the video on this strategy and it looks good. I wonder if it would work good on Normal too?

Warlocks are good for distracting the enemy while the Titans do the real work.

Much respect for the Gaze catchers. I tried it with the other night. Didn't go well for me.

Last time I did the raid, we left off at Golgoroth, I'd like to finish him off and get some loot there and continue on to the Sisters and ultimately Oryx. I'll do what I can on my end to be available for the raid this evening!

That's fine I don't mine beating him again, you might get something good from the drop. If we get a good team together it should be quick. I just want to get it finished off by 10pm EST because I need to catch up on some sleep.
