Same here. The fact that the Atmos track is now available has pushed it way up from the middle to the top of my watchlist . I'm planning to mux the Atmos track before watching for the full 3D experience. This will be first time I have sat down to watch it in 3D

The review said the Atmos was good, but they neutered the bass!

Yes that's common nowadays but most people won't hear a difference since even if they have a sub, most don't go below 30Hz. The review suggests that it mainly affects the awesome sub killing intro, but the rest should be fine. At some point BEQ filters will be made available to hopefully recover the lower frequencies but this should be good enough in the meantime. Can't wait

Rewatched Edge of Tomorrow. Great movie, great 3D, great soundtrack. Highly recommended.

Edit: The neural upmix works well. All things considered my #1!

It’s annoying having these filtered bass track but I simply can’t be bothered with BEQ.

The setup is a PITA but once set up, the new ezBEQ system makes it very easy to use. I'm sure I don't get the same benefits as someone with multiple 15" subs or a hoverboss. But it's nice to know that I'm getting at least some of the sub 20Hz frequencies that would be there in the cinema.

Right now there's only BEQ for the streaming Atmos mix, but I'm still excited to watch this today

Just again watched Wild Ocean.

Another great documentary, this time about man's need to retain the natural food chain.

I would otherwise rate this outstanding 3D if it wasn't for some intermittent ghosting along with certain scenes lacking the tremendous depth seen throughout most of the disc (some underwater scenes fall short of the overall depth and detail in titles like "under the sea" etc).

Despite these drawbacks there is such an abundance of reference quality 3D that Wild Ocean is still highly recommended.

You inspired me to give this another watch. I’d say that it’s the above ground scenes that are often lacking for 3D punch; the early flyover shots are often entirely 2D. Overall, a curious mix of strong, medium, and weak 3D.The Deep Sea 3D doc is much more consistent in strong 3D quality. But, this is indeed a great documentary, with plenty of strong 3D shots. Effective music score too. Highly recommended.

I did get around to watching Edge of Tomorrow. Great story with fun characters but I forgot how funny this movie is Cruise and Blunt work very well together and the 3D really adds to the immersion. I wrote a slightly more technical review including comments on the Atmos track on the movie thread.

Just got Alpha and Omega.

I really enjoyed this animated feature. A wonderful story for children and adults.

Had a little eyestrain watching this one. The 3D had a lot of depth and color but many times some objects within a scene appeared slightly out of focus in comparison to the overall picture. Perhaps a problem of misalignment?

But still a lovely animated film with heart and humor and plenty of depth yet a rare modern stereoscopic one inducing eyestrain. Region B and still recommended

Rewatched Prometheus. Not as good as the first two Aliens, but still a good movie in its own right. Great 3D and soundtrack. My only complaint Charlize wore way to much clothing. Highly recommended.

Edit: Neural up-mix worked very well.

Watched 2 blockbuster movies.

Godzilla. Mild-to-Medium. Had to adjust display to make it brighter as it's too dark to see not even the 3D but the movie itself.

Independence Day Resurgence. Medium. Nice depth but pops.

Both are enjoyable movies best watched in 3D.

As I’ve said, one of the best sci-fi action thrillers of the last thirty years, and the 3D is absolutely astounding for a conversion and adds immensely to the viewing experience; it’s even got some very impressive popouts that made me duck, a definite rarity in conversions! Love the lenticular cover too. Top marks all round, and one that belongs in the collection of every self-respecting 3D fanatic.

Did you order this from dvdoutlet.nl along with Chickenhare? Cause if you did, the Dutch version is region free.

Terrible. I am now 5 purchases beyond my quota for this year and there are 5 more months to go.

Bought:

Rise of Skywalker
Dead Before Dawn

Last edited by Blu-Ray 3D President; 07-03-2022 at 03:59 PM. Reason: Oops make that 5 not 3. I forgot about Nudie Cuties which apparently are 2 movies in 1.

I don't have a quota but I keep thinking that there are no more 3D movies that I would want. Then someone on here will suggest a 3D title then I do this.
