Quite the opposite, in fact Dalton's performance is the main aspect holding up the appraisals of his two films, TLD and LTK, which are poorly directed and garish, albeit somewhat subversive but ultimately derivative.

Matrix Resurrections is THE worst movie of last year. It's a viciously terrible and disgusting franchise killer. At least I can say that without people barking at me.

A person who just a few days ago was telling everyone that they shouldn't try so hard to justify not liking "a silly movie" has spent the better part of the last two days doing precisely that.

To be clear, I wasn't "barking" at you for not liking it, but the statement about how dare anyone like Eternals but not ZSJL, Dune, etc.

This week I watched His Girl Friday, All About Eve and The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, and I find myself drawn to older films more and more and that I rather rewatch those or discovering them for the first time than watching most modern films that are released today. Overall, I find myself overwhelmed by the amount of content that is released today, the way it is marketed and fandoms in general, and all of that is eventually for underwhelming products, that I just feel the weight of it all and that most of the times it's just not worth it.

I don't know about you, but whenever I see a trailer/commercial for a new movie, I feel like I've already seen it. Almost everything new reminds me of something old.

I'd rather discover an old movie I've never seen before than get caught up in the hype of a new movie.

I find myself equally excited exploring older classics that I've never seen before as I do going to ser many of the brand-new releases.

Not in my case (or my brothers) we grew up with Moore as bond as well but we much preferred Connery. I think it was because in the UK at least they would repeat the older bond movies so many times, especially through Christmas, that we were exposed to all of them.

I'm so with you on that.

Granted there's a new Moorhead/Benson film that debuted at Sundance and apparently it's a great return to form for them after Synchronic. So there's still some great movies out there with hype.
