That was about five days ago.
But soon as the bear went on his four legs I knew it was a real bear.
The back legs ...

And it was fun to learn about sun bears.

There's a new App called RentHop, where people can go to see if they're either under- or overpaying rent. I bet the genius who thought that up (who is probably a gazillionaire by now) didn't think about the possibility of landlords looking at the app and deciding to raise someone's rent because of it lol. These things are a gimmick anyway.

I've dealt with the matter now and will move on, not wasting my time dwelling on it. You try and be helpful to someone, but when you have a know-it-all talk down to you with one half of what they say, but make it look like they're being friendly by the end of their post, I see right through it.

The good thing is, there are far more, way more helpful members here who outweigh the negative ones.

Been a funny old day today (and not in the ha-ha sense). I'm just going to listen to helpful advice that friends on here have given me (it's better for my health not dwelling on negativity).

My McAfee anti virus is coming up for renewal. Got it because it came with my computer a few years ago and I dont know crap about anti virus. Running Window 11 Home on a HP pavilionx360 I bought in 2020. Any recommendations?

I've always used the free versions of AVG and Malwarebytes.

I've been using them for years and am pretty satisfied with the protection they give.

I would just uninstall mcafee and windows probably will auto default back to windows own defender and firewall so there's nothing new to install etc.Works fine for me for years

Had for years a Kaspersky paid version and in the last years the -kaspersky free-antivirus- version was also ok i might install the free K again some day but if you want to keep things simple just use windows defender en windows firewall

Lahaina, Maui ... death toll @ 93

Absolute devastation, and the number of deaths will keep climbing; hundreds are still missing. It surpasses the 85 deaths of the Paradise Camp Fire of 2018 in California.
Lahaina took only 17 minutes to be eradicated from the fires by violent winds ; the reason why more deaths. People were evaporated.

My heart goes to all affected.

An increasing number of people who are still smothering themselves with masks are using them improperly, just covering their mouths and leaving their noses exposed, which completely defeats the purpose. I'm even seeing some folks using them as chin guards. This lends credence to my theory that there are some folks out there who will never take those things off no matter what. Not even if CNN tells them it's OK.

Disclaimer: This post is meant more as a tease and not a judgment on people or how they conduct their personal lives. Personally, I don't care if someone wants to wear masks until the end of the century - that's their business. Just had to get that out there before anyone jumps on my throat

I saw that too. The people who withdraw more than what they had in their account will have to repay that money back to the bank.

Good scheme to catch the thieves. Only in Ireland.

I've been getting tons of "End of Summer" emails from all kinds of retailers. Normally, I'd be frustrated by those (I'm sick of junk mail) but in this case I'm gleeful. Summer is my least favorite season. Bring on the Fall and cool weather!

Actually, winter is the worst season, not summer. Winter storms are actually more costly, deadly and destructive than heatwaves, tornadoes and all other spring, summer and fall weather that’s inclement, not the other way around.

Contrary to what some crooked medical professionals say, scraping ice, mixed precipitation and sleet is the most hazardous thing to human health with snow shoveling being the second most hazardous thing to human health. The exceptions to this are digging out your own vehicle. But that’s not close to remotely beneficial to human health, either.

I hope to god you use ice melters and have some kind of plow. Otherwise, you’re unnecessarily endangering your life.
