One thing is for sure, the greatest addition to the ninth and tenth season has been the introduction of Cailey Fleming as Judith.

She’s an incredible and mature child actress. Hell, she’s one of the strongest lead out of the entire cast.

Well after a great episode previously, one of the best in years....we get this steaming pile of crap.

Obvious they're tying it into the Rick Grimes spin-off story, but so what. It was just all over the place and bizarre.

[Show spoiler]Buddy imprisons Michonne and drugs her - why?

Buddy imprisons the others and when they finally get out an impassioned speech by Michonne changes their minds on killing him - why?

Buddy torches the boat one minute and offers to fix the bigger boat the next - why?

etc. etc. etc.

The inconsistency this season has been off the charts. Few good episodes here and there and then we get crap like this week.

I thought last week was the best episode in years, and then yesterdays episode was a return to nonsense the show has become in the last few years. What an idiotic way to write off Michonne from the show. She just leaves her kids to find Rick in movies that may or not not happen? Bah. They are pretty close to the end of the comic, so hopefully they put this show out of its misery soon.

Well, I think when it comes to the movie, it doesn’t sound like you’ll need to watch TWD in order to enjoy it because it’s going to be a completely different story. So how successful it is will depend on the trailer and the reviews for it. I just think that when you have a good storyline going on the tv show, like the whisperers, it’s a mistake to hit the pause button on it and spend an entire episode on something that has absolutely nothing to do with the show. That’s what last night’s episode was. I understand that an episode was needed for Michonne’s exit, but I probably would have done it during the first half before things with the whisperers really heated up.

This last episode was one of the worst I have ever endured. Luckily I stopped watching this show live a long time ago and now record it on my DVR to watch later. I might have made it 20-25 minutes into the show before fast forwarding to the end just to see if they would actually show something worth watching. This was like sitting down to watch a Hallmark classic and finding out that Ma and Pa Kettle Down on the Farm had been substituted.

Per io9 and their review of the episode, here’s what they said in regards to Michonne leaving Judith and RJ to find Rick:

Quote:
I even think the show managed to thread the needle of why she would abandon her two children, thanks to a wonderfully performed walkie-talkie conversation between Michonne and Judith.

Her daughter essentially gives Michonne her blessing to go find Rick—not in childish desperation to get her father back, which would hammer home how much Judith needs at least one of her parents to stay with her, and make Michonne’s departure feels inappropriate and out of character.

Instead, Judith makes three mature, perfect decisions: To prioritize her mother’s needs over her own, to lie that the Whisperers are no longer a threat so she’s safe, and to essentially impel her mom to search for her dad by telling Michonne that Rick may need help much more than Judith herself does.

Judith has given Michonne—and the audience—all the justification for leaving she needs. The glorious capper is that while Michonne is crying through the entire conversation, all Judith does is wipe a couple of tears out of her eyes after saying goodbye.
I guess that’s enough to justify Michonne leaving. I do find it a reach that Judith, an 8-12 year child would have the sense/understanding of her mothers need to reunite with the person she loves. Because we all know had our mommy have to adventure into the zombie wasteland in search of daddy, we’d cry for them to not abandon us.

Judith has also had to grow up very quickly.

Never been allowed to be a kid like Carl was.

That episode might very well be the worst episode I've ever seen. It went NO WHERE and was nothing more than an empty filler. Honestly, that all could have been condensed into about 20 minutes and allowed another subplot take place to actually advance this series a little.

Kind of reminded me of that stupid episode entirely dedicated to Morgan learning martial arts. A waste of a valuable episode on a mostly meaningless substory.

What the hell were those huge groups at the end of the episode? I watched it twice and don't get it. Large formations of people? Whisperers co-opting packs of walkers?

A
[Show spoiler]new community of regular people, I believe. Those two Michonne found asked for help because they were leaving without them (although how a person on foot is supposed help two other people on foot catch up any faster, I dunno).

An issue I had:
[Show spoiler]Michonne tells Judith she found three new people she's helping to get home (the three other kidnap victims), then we immediately cut to her on her own and the three people are immediately forgotten forever?

The Walking Dead Season 10 Finale DELAYED

Quote:
AMC announced on Tuesday that the Season 10 finale of the zombie drama has been delayed indefinitely.

“Current events have unfortunately made it impossible to complete post-production of The Walking Dead Season 10 finale, so the current season will end with its 15th episode on April 5,” the network said in a statement. “The planned finale will appear as a special episode later in the year.”

Season 10 of the record-breaking zombie drama completed filming in November, but post-production could not be completed in time on the final episode before the COVID-19 shutdown, leaving the last installment in limbo. And filming on Season 11 was supposed to commence at the start of May but has already been pushed back three weeks, with more delays possibly coming.

That sucks. I'm sure episode 15 will give us a big cliffhanger too.

I’m confused as to why the season finale is being relabeled as a “special.”

Does this mean that episode 15 will now be considered the season finale? And if so, will the 16th episode be included on the disc release?

That is, if it’s to air before August/September. When the Blu-ray is normally out.

Initially I was predicting that the "special"/season finale would air before the season 11 premiere and then I realized that the season premiere is going to be delayed too. I have no clue what the plan is now. Everything has been turned upside down.

I wonder how much post-production was needed? You would figure they would have it complete a few months in advance, and not simply a few weeks in advance.

Makes me wonder if episode 15 will suffice as a season-ender. If it was like last year, with the pikes, that would have been a great season-ender, since episode 16 was a little bit "filler-ish", and could easily have been a "special".

Filming began May of 2019 and wrapped the end of November 2019.

Meaning, while episodes were airing in October, the production crew were still filming and editing later episodes in the season.
