Their ideal conference would be the Big East but that is highly unlikely, but Conference USA isn't out of the question, especially if UCF joins the Big East.
Yeah I guess I never thought about travel...

Appalachian St. is a relatively small school located in a small town of under 14,000 residents in a rural county in NC. It really doesn't have the makings of a D1 successful program.

And Delaware?

NCAA could ask Newton to sit

With investigators gathering new information into pay-to-play allegations surrounding Auburn star quarterback Cam Newton, the NCAA could recommend Friday that the star quarterback be held out of competition pending a ruling on his eligibility.

Known runner Kenny Rogers told ESPN Radio in Dallas on Thursday that Newton’s father, Cecil Newton, advised him it would take “anywhere between $100,000 and $180,000” for his son to sign with Mississippi State. Rogers told ESPN Radio he acted on that demand, reaching out to a Mississippi State booster and attempting to facilitate a deal. According to NCAA interpretations, such an action would be a rules violation regardless of whether money exchanged hands or if Newton eventually signed with another school.

The solicitation of cash or benefits by a prospective student-athlete or another individual on his or her behalf is not allowed under NCAA rules,” NCAA spokesperson Stacey Osburn told Yahoo! Sports on Thursday.

If Auburn paid Newton, I hope the NCAA cripples the program. These kids are student-athletes, and there is no reason for money to be involved. When the NCAA catches a program with a major violation like this one, they need to make an example out of them. Of course, everyone is innocent until proven guilty but it's not looking good for Cam Newton.

It juts shows how far the 24 hour news cycle and new media has come. It literally took 5+ years for the Reggie Bush fiasco to fully come to light. These Cam Newton allegations are unraveling overnight.

The flip side of everyone being so eager to be the first to report on something

Essentially the sources saying this happened and that they were witness to it, also said these phone calls were reported to the SEC. The SEC and MSU have effectively said 'huh? that's not in any reports' (not actual quote)

Quote:
In other words, the veracity of the most damning report on the Newton situation that’s come to light to date is very much in question. The question now is, what will ESPN‘s response be to the disconnect between the SEC’s version of January’s events and the version told by sources to one of their writers?

I don't know why Georgia Tech doesn't wear their dark blue jerseys more often. It's a sharp looking uniform. Good start for Miami, but it's a very long game yet. Go 'Canes!!!

Boise State rolled Idaho 52-14 in another dominating performance, gotta love the pollsters' bias against them.

Kellen Moore was beyond impressive last night, he sliced and diced up that secondary. His accuracy is very impressive.

Boise State has now won 23 games in a row, longest streak in the nation and haven't lost to a WAC team since the 90s, I don't see them doing anything against Nevada except rolling right through them.

There's no bias. They are #4 in the polls despite a pathetic schedule. Would you really rank them ahead of Auburn and Oregon who play legit major conference schedules? The only gripe Boise might have is being ranked behind TCU. And if I had a vote I'd also put TCU one spot ahead of them based on strength of schedule.

Sounds like the real problem you have is the BCS which only allows two teams to compete for a championship. And that's a system 95%+ or us hate anyway.

Yup they need to give BSU a shot at proving they can hang with the big boys. #7 Wisconsin is rolling Indiana 59-13 and driving for more.

Oh that's just great. UCF finally makes the top 25 for the first time ever and plays like crap at home against Southern Miss down 24-14 late in the 3rd. They better rally and win this one.

69-13 Wisconsin as they score on an interception return, almost feel bad for Indiana.

UCF's kicker just missed a 30 yard FG by what looked like about 50+ feet. And it wasn't partially blocked either and it's not windy at the game. One of the worst kicks I've ever seen.

EDIT - TD for Southern Miss, UCF trails 31-14... this one is pretty much over\ with 11 min left.

I wonder where 1 loss Wisconsin will be ranked after this, they will be 9-1 and they've had a few nice wins like this this year. I'm going to guess...5th, right behind BSU.

They are aready 5th in the human polls. Thing is the computer polls hate the Big 10 this year. Wisconsin was only 9th in the computer rankings coming into this week which landed them at 7th overall in the BCS. Unless Stanford gets upset today Wiconsin will still be 5th in the human polls but just 7th in the BCS.

Looks like Northwestern is going to beat Iowa, barring a miracle. 76-20 now for Wisconsin, both teams in that game just scored long touchdowns.
