that's pretty good seeing how it isn't released until 12/8.

that must be a misprint.

i had placed my order before i signed up for the prime and it gave me the same delievery estimate of around or after x-mas.

once i signed up for prime, it switched to 12/8.

Crap! That's what I get for not doing my research. I though something seemed fishy about that.

I'm not about to wait until after XMas, particularly when I can save another $2 (I have to pay tax either way).

almost any ad i've seen for black friday has the 1st 5 for $10-$12 each though.....at least if i remember correctly.

so it's a cheap way to grab the whole set if u don't have them already.

Do you plan on canceling after the trial?

That's a good question. I was smart and activated it last week so I'll have it all throughout the holidays. So I can take advantage of it while its free. I'd like to keep it but $70 is a lot of money...and I'm pretty sure I'll be broke after the holiday season: so I'll more than likely cancel. But I do plan on getting Prime activated again in the near future. It's totally worth it but only if you purchase a lot on Amazon.

i own every Harry Potter Blu-ray, but this one has the worst PQ it's dark like..... all the details are getting lost, there are almost no scenes where that "HD Feeling" comes up. I've compared the HD trailer vs the Blu-ray, the colours and details are much richer in the HD trailer. Unfortunately WB (i guess?) decided to ruin the transfer with the darkness over the film.

Yet, well worth to own on Blu-ray, it's just the PQ could have been much better.

Well im not saying there arent people who like when a film gets darkshrouded and lose details. I think its supposed to look that way.

Im just saying i prefer the HD trailer PQ, like i said, there are more details and the colours are stronger.

Just compare.

Its simillar to the Bram Stokers Dracula Transfer. The Blu-ray is very dark.

How does it compare with Order of the Phoenix? That was pretty dark.

Don't use trailers to judge how somethign should look, especially when it comes to colors. Trailers are made by outside companies and typically do not feature final color timing.

The disc breakdown for the blu-ray indicates that its two discs, with the feature+maximum movie mode on disc 1 and all the other special features on a second disc. I guess I thought this was a 3 disc combo + digital copy with only one blu-ray and 2nd disc dvd, 3rd disc DC?
This is probably going to be like other Warner "family" titles (such as "Shorts"). The movie and all the extras will be on the Blu-ray disc. The DVD will only have the movie and the Digital Copy. The DVD will not be a "full" DVD like the separately available DVD versions.

Anyone else get this one early? The transfer on this one looks very dark to me. Like a gray haze all over every scene. it's kinda weird. I never saw this in the theater nor do i own any of the other Harry Potter movies on BD so i have nothing to compare to. Was this how it was filmed? We tried it on three different calibrated TVs, two 46s and one 55 and same look. the only conclusions we could come to were that either it's a bad transfer or it's how it was filmed. A few post above someone mentions this was very dark as well. Do you have the same effect on this BD?

It's how the film was made/altered in post-production. It's also one of the reasons why I don't like the movie: the sepia-ish tones are really an eyesore. It's only on the quidditch field where the colours look semi-natural.

What are you talking about? The film doesn't have a sepia-ish tone look to it at all. The one that that looked that way at first was even changed in post production (the astronomy tower scene after they apparate back).

Natural? I don't think you're really seeing the film's visual motif's, nor it's large variety of different palettes depending on the themes or characters.
