The house sits on Wineville Ave. which use to be the name of the town but the town was so ashamed about what happen on the ranch that they changed the town's name to Mira Loma

Yea man thats a trip. What a shame to. I saw that they changed the name also. Cant believe some of the things that has taken place over time. But yes sir very good film and I plan on purchasing on blu as I watched it in HD on directv. Got Em!!

Stomp the Yard - I love this film. Maybe the best of any music/dance type film with the exception of Saturday Night Fever. 2 very diff movies however. Great dance and step routines. Very good acting especially when u watch some of these dance movies that dont have good acting. Very good execution of the overall film. Love the lead Columbus Short and of course Meagan Good is watchable anyday. Overall I give it 4.5/5


The Perfect Storm - Very good movie with a great cast. Very good visuals and a sad ending. Overall I give it 3.5/5

Film 10/10 (one of greatest films of 90's IMO)

PQ 4.5/5 (i dont think it can look any better, given the source material)

AQ 4.5/5 (very clear dialogue and score, not much action music, so no real need for much surrounds)

Everyone should have this Blu in their collection IMO. A great film with a great transfer = must-own

This morning:

El Orfanato (The Orphanage): Perfectly executed story, amazing acting by the lead and the child (Simon) and the cinematography was breath-taking. This is the type of "horror films" I enjoy; subtle with slow-building tension. I had my doubts at first, but I'm glad I stuck through it.

Just a couple of hours ago:

Broken Flowers (Dir: Jim Jarmusch w/ Bill Murray & Jefferey Wright): Started off a little dull, but it picked up it's pace. Loved the deadpan humour and the awkward moments of silence (a la The Office). Excellent dramedy, and the main theme song got me hooked! because of the amazing soundtrack, Mulatu Astatke just got a new fan!

Sherlock Holmes: 6/10

I don't even want to talk about it, but I gave it a generous score.

Just a horrible movie...the kid from 3rd Rock from the Sun is Cobra Commander....need I say more?

X-MEN ORIGINS--WOLVERINE--

hmmmm, had it's share of good moments but not a good movie. Easily the weakest of the series-- the ending was horribly anti-climatic. I had to go back and play the last 10 minutes because I was wondering what happened to the main bad guy-- very poorly done.

movie-- 2.5 out of 5.0
PQ-- 3.0 out of 5.0 (not as impressive as many new releases here either)

I didn't think the movie was all that good. It had it's moments but overall it was a pretty mediocre thriller set in an extreme environment. 3/5

IMO, Kate Beckinsale is a great actress wasted on mediocre films. Looking at IMDB.com, I can't see one film that she has been in that I would call great.

Watched "Secondhand Lions" for the first time ever via Netflix; I was pleseantly surprised by it, and would rank it almost as highly as "The Fall" (both films feature some slick fantasy scenes set in a far-east setting). For the most part though, this film focused really well on the characters and has a very strong theme about life and vitality. The message gets a little weird though, as the movie seems to suggest that it's sometimes better to believe in a lie rather than seeing the truth. The movie also has a few sappy moments, but also a lot of funny scenes and some cool parts. It's a fine drama all-around; well worthwhile watching. 4/5

Watching "The Gauntlet" right now, starring Clint Eastwood. Looks like a 3/5 movie so far...

Watched: Dan in Real Life
Entertaining to be sure but I would only give it 6.5/10. Steve Carrel is such a fantastic actor IMO. He can be very funny one second and very emotional the next, sometimes combining the two.

I would imagine it isn't more popular because IMO it is the same movie as Braveheart, just a different war. I agree that it is a very good movie and deserves recognition.

Agreed. I would for sure buy The Big Lebowski and probably The Hudsucker Proxy. I have all 3 of their Blu-rays (have yet to see A Serious Man).

I just watched Beowulf & Grendel....no not the animated one....this one stars Gerald Butler of 300 fame. I was pleasently surprised at how good this movie was. I can't believe it slipped under the radar...it came out in 2005 and at least i never heard of it! It was a blind buy for me and i'm very happy i bought it. I will definately watch it again!!

I remember hearing about it but never saw it. I was interested because I think Beowulf is one of the great oral stories of all-time.
