I got reprinted cover with, I Am Legend BD
before they started putting notice on them

was just going to trade it for another copy which had orig cover
but guy serving me noticed and when I explained I was re-buying for the cover
he just let me swap, rather than trade in and re-buy

I ordered a new copy of the 4K UHD of 1978's Halloween. Today I tried to sell my surplus 40th anniversary blu-ray to Cex but they couldn't take as it's been discontinued on their system. I thought that was kind of odd as the blu-ray only came out last year.

Do you check their site first? I always do.

https://uk.webuy.com/search/?stext=h...ategoryIds=792

Seems odd they don't have a listing for the 40th anniversary blu (due to what you said) but they do list the 4K.

Normally I'd check but not this time. I wasn't expecting much anyway as I think it was only several pounds from Sainsburys.

It's CEX. I've seen stuff on their shelves that they don't have on their system.

Has anyone here bought players from Cex before? My local has a 4K player in grade A condition, but I'm just rather sceptical.

I personally wouldn't but I do believe they offer a pretty decent guarantee/ warranty/ whatever the right word is.

They give a 2 year warranty. I really don't see where the worry should be. I've bought a lot of tech from CEX over the years, and never had an issue.

And if I did, there is a warranty...

Send them an email, they might ask for a picture of the item and barcode, then should add it to the system.

Seems like too much effort for too little reward if I'm being honest. I'll just gift it to a work colleague.

Check the price for the brand new model and if it’s no more than 60% for the second hand one then go for it.

Maybe ask them to test it in the shop hooked up to a TV to try out a few discs first?

Oh and most likely a scratched disc too.
Yikes! Good to see CEX continue their scummy ways.

Just had an advert come on the telly for cex. Since when was it pronounced Sex, rather than Cee-Eee-Exx? I am so confused...

Yeah it's just the modern way of saying it. It's said by that by people to sound edgy. CEX stands for Computer Entertainment eXchange so calling is 'sex' makes zero sense.

If that's what CEX stands for, surely it should be pronounced kecks as in pants

Have you seen what they call their instore wifi?

The "sex" pronunciation must've been too funny to them to ignore.
