Awesome stuff. I don't have a lot as far as figures and stautes but I have a lot of signed posters and pics I will post as soon as I take some pics. I just got some cool ones from Comic Con. My favorite is my Sons of Anarchy signed poster. The whole cast was there.

ok getting annoyed with BBTS.

I said ship my "loot" on friday or saturday and it's wednesday and it still says "in the warehouse being fulfilled" it will take another 3 days to get it once they ship it at least.

not really important I guess just annoying.

eh I doubt there really is any major benefit. Although I think it does save you shipping. normally $7 ups per order, but by waiting my two orders only had $10 shipping.

plus if you have a bunch of preorders coming due in the same month you can hold off and wait till they all come in and ship together instead of getting 5 packages.

I don't think its the loot option that is doing it. they just won't ship my stuff.

update:

found out why my order hasn't shipped. turns out one of the things i bought (close wars R2-D2) isn't actually in stock. so they canceled it, gave me store credit = to the cost, plus $5 for the inconvenience, then shipped the other two things.

at least they addressed it. and the figure wasn't that big a deal. of course I'd have preferred a refund instead of store credit but it was only $3 cause it was a clearance item.

hoping to get it and post some pics in a few days.

yeah thats what i figured, it would cover shipping which is cool. and I really appreciate that they gave me the extra $5 since I hadn't gotten around to sending an email about it yet. so that was all voluntary.

depends what you do with it. do I want a figure of me in shorts and a tshirt? no, I'm boring and unattractive.

do I want it on a spidey body, that'd be cool. I actually did the rock band figure thing so I sort of have a figure of me already. lol. it looks as close to me as I could make it in the character creation of rock band (or rock band 2 which ever it was)

Quick question for anyone that can answer. Do the Hot Toys hold value pretty good? I'm paying $215 + for this and I don't want to find it for $100 a few months from now.

Having said that, I think it is best to collect things that you love and will not want to part with.

Case in point...when I was D E E P into action figure collecting, "THEEE HOT" figure to have was the large sized Darth Maul with robes. I checked it out today and it is going for 20bucks BUT...I still love that figure because the robes were phenomenal. So it depends.

You will definititely NOT find anything from hot toys (new in box) for $100.00 less in a few months. (unless, of course, it is stolen and that is between you and your dealer and I don't want anything to do with that world.)

I'm currently looking for it right now. Saw some on Amazon for $220 ish. Don't know the condition of the packaging though. Might go the eBay route and see what the prices are on there. I'm not concerned with the price, I just don't want screwed over.

Hot Toys are generally a pretty safe investment. The Dark Knight figures were 500+ new in box up until a few months ago when they announced the DX11 & DX12. Even so, they still sell for 200+ above retail.

For some reason people were getting excited about this in the Avengers thread but I tried explaining that to them. You can not get free shipping when using a promo gift card, and I just received a figure last week using one and was charged $12 shipping. It was a $50 card so I still made out well, but a $10 card is basically worthless.

Its not only that but if I remember correctly the gift card can only be used for certain items on their site.

If you ever find anything on the list you want that's gift card eligible check out ebay first. I bought a $50 gift card for $15 and I've seen $75 and $100 pop up occasionally. The going rate for the $100's is about $45, so that could be a nice little discount. It's a shame they don't let you use more than one per order or you could really clean up.

here is my meager collection. the only sideshow statue i have is the nathan drake from the uncharted 3 collector's edition. the darth malgus is from the star wars: the old republic collector's edition. the bookends are from the mortal kombat kollector's edition. the batman is from the batman: arkham city collector's edition. and the snow troll is from the lord of the rings: war in the north collector's edition.

yeah sideshow gets you good.

My first SDCC they were giving out gift cards if you scanned your badge mine ended up being worth $50 or $75 I can't remember, but in anycase I still had a hard time finding anything that was worth it that would accept gift cards and would be covered by the amount.

I ended up getting a small iron man mask replica which is actually pretty cool. I'll try and remember to take a pic, it's good quality and heavy but that was the ONLY think i could get.
