Wut?

I still don't see the logic behind using Aladdin as a reason why The Little Mermaid still has stock available. It's region free, not locked. So it has no bearing on the region coding reason. It sold out quick. So, it has no bearing on the sell-through comparison. If anything, Aladdin comparisons make this even more of a mystery, yet you seem to be using it as a means to solve the "riddle."

but still, going off the 'not released widely' arguement, why do we then have one title locked and another not?
TJB even has a US release planned for spring next year, whereas Aladdin doesnt, yet Aladdin was region free...where's the logic?

Release date, not exactly...announcement, yes... It was listed as Spring 2013 in an insert included with Lady & the Tramp. So it was planned & in the pipeline.

ALADDIN -> not available in the US/Canada + low circulation SB = Zavvi sold out

THE LITTLE MERMAID -> available in US/Canada/Worldwide + high circulation SB = Zavvi lots of stock.

Dont recall ever seeing that, and pretty much all my Disney's are US titles.....though I know for sure there hasnt been a trailer for it on any of the Classics, yet, even though there has been a listing for adding it to collections on here also

but Jungle book is in the same status as TLM (released worldwide within the next 6 months) and yet the disc was locked....where's the logic? Aladdin should have been locked it anything as that never got a release at all and has unknown US release date.

Plus Jungle Book being released here now and in US in spring, same deal we had with Peter Pan last year and THAT UK release wasnt locked either.....again, lack of logically locking

Then you've got the non-diamond titles ie 101 Dalmations and Tarzan that are out in the UK, unlocked discs, with no US release date at present....suppose this lack of logic could just be Disney logic (or lack off)

I believe it was only included in some "lucky winner" copies of Lady & the Tramp. I'm not sure if mine has it either.

Lady in the Tramp is one of the very few UK titles I have so that may be why I've not come across it.

So when was Aladdin confirmed as being swapped out for Peter Pan as LATT was release Jan 2012 (Feb in US if I recall correct), so a full year before Aladdin was due for release, meaning Peter Pan should have been the first to advertise TJB (in theory)

I actual cancelled a pair of my orders last week (had 2 lots of two, incase I wanted to cancel nearer to the time, but keep the discount for over £40 orders at the time)

Given that Scott has offered a $7 coupon for this in the US, it makes this Steelbook even less appealing than it was before at the absurd price Zavvi wanted for it (unless you REALLY like The Little Mermaid). Get it for over $30 from Zavvi (single disc Steelbook) or just get the same or better for $13-$23 on release day with plenty of discs and extra features (depending on 2D and 3D prices).

Good for most. But, as someone who is down to their last Disney steelbook want/need for their collection, I'm going to pay the price to get it from the UK.

how have we not all learnt to hold off for a few years and pick just ONE of the many releases and re-releases

My blu=ray collection may be small but I can guarantee the amount of blu's to pass through my hands, for one reason or another-double/triple dips/3D etc would equate, if not beat the tally of my collection
