Exactly. The found footage angle needs to be dropped because it makes no sense in a F13 movie. It's not like Jason is going to film the murders. What, somebody is going to follow Jason around with a camera, and film him while he kills people? Jason has a sidekick now??!

Paramount, for the love of god, please stop churning out these cheap-ass found footage horror flicks.

Yeah, found footage makes no sense for a Friday the 13th movie. Jason's not going to film the murders, and as has been pointed out, who'd be around when people are killed? You'd need the person with the camera to be there for every murder, and why would they even think to get the camera out if they were in that situation?

The only way I can see it working is if you pull a New Beginning and have another killer instead of Jason, who happens to enjoy filming his victims. But even then, the found footage thing is boring and way overdone by now, just give us a conventional movie.

I really don't see the need for another reboot. Just do a sequel to the 2009 movie set in Winter like was originally planned.

As for found footage (which I am totally against), there's a few ways it could be done:

One of the kids is a reporter, decides to film it all to make a name for themselves...?

Or the cast is a set of film students trying to prove Crystal Lake is haunted etc. Cameras are set up everywhere. Shit goes down.

They could film it in a "found footage" style but not actually be "found footage." Maybe they should just do that. Like others have said actually being found footage wouldn't make much sense. Though who knows, maybe they can make it work. Maybe a victim before dying attached a camera to Jason's mask. LOL. I kid .

That could work.

I don't feel the need to a sequel to the lame 2009 reboot, but a Friday The 13th in winter is something I'd love to see.

I am totally for the winter idea and having some amazing, smooth cinematography (and hopefully a great score too). The found footage idea sounds awful, but what they could do is in the movie if it is shot normally still have maybe one scene or death from the POV of the victim and/or Jason. That hasn't been done yet in the series (to my recollection, there's so many deaths in the franchise). But so many horror movies now (the crap ones) use shaky cam or found footage and they do alright at the box office so that is what Paramount is clearly trying to emulate. They don't give a shit about Friday the 13th anymore, that much is obvious.

I'm sorry if it was already mentioned in this thread, but I heard rumors last year that Corey Feldman was going to be in this.... Is that true? I think that would be pretty interesting.

I just hope the women in this one are as hot as they were in the 2009 reboot.

Hopefully in this one he won't have trap doors set up all around the camp and take prisoners.

Yes! Totally agree on this and I don't see why it needs another reboot..oh Hollywood. That makes twice recently the franchise has been rebooted in the rear end. I'm not gonna lie, I kinda wanna see a reboot on " Nightmare on Elm Street" for a second time if they are gonna do Jason again.

Breaking news this Friday afternoon as fans of Pamela and Jason Voorhees are going to have to wait six months longer than originally thought for Friday the 13th.

Sources tell Bloody Disgusting that the Paramount Pictures and Platinum Dunes-produced re-remake will now hit theaters on November 13, 2015, a heavy shift from the original March date.

David Bruckner (The Signal, V/H/S) is in talks to retell the Voorhees family story, although he’s yet to be confirmed.

It will not be a found-footage reboot. With that said, what do you guys want to see in the next F13?

Glad it's not a found footage movie. Didn't think they really would go down that route either with Jason but glad to have confirmation.

Here's a big thumbs up to no found footage. I kind of thought they would dump it after all the bad press it got.

So happy to hear they have dumped the idea.

I don't mind waiting longer for a (Hopefully) better film. I'll start with a thumbs up and hope that this project -- as well as the tv series -- goes good places now.

That's good to hear. I did not like that idea at all.

The November release date is fine with me, although that's about two weeks after Halloween
