Even if the German version is fine, getting the Aus version from Sanity also gets me English language on the back of the cover too, which is preferred.

I'm putting in the 3D disk in the 4K UK case so what the case looks like isn't an issue for me. I'm looking to pick up the cheapest 3D version.

That's fair enough if you are double dipping and buying the 4k version as well.

I'm not bothering with the Marvel movies on UHD, not enough of an upgrade for me, with the 1080p versions being already great quality and prefer the 3D versions where available.

I kind of agree with that (not upgrading from Blu ray). The only upgrade that was worth it for me is Black Panther. I think it's the only MCU movie mastered in Dolby Vision and it shows.

Hopefully they can compromise at a ~75/25 or 80/20 split since the 50/50 Disney is asking for is absurd and keeping it at 95/5 isn't going to happen either. Thankfully this happened after Phase 3 is done and things were wrapped up before Spidey potentially got pulled from the MCU. Would be a bummer for this to happen after they set Spiderman up as one of the main avengers for phase 4 though.
Regardless, I just put in my preorder with Sanity. Stoked to see this in 3D since I only got to catch it flat in the theater.

Here is a fact to consider. Based on the revelations at Comic-Con last mon the thrust of phase 4 & 5 will be titles based in the cosmic or mystical. It doesn’t appear as if there would be a place for Spider-Man to interact with the MCU for quite some time. Sony for better or worse could increase profits on their spinoff titles they have already spent large sums in development if they had Spider-Man make actual appearances in those properties.

So if I want to get this and I'm in the USA, what's the current cheapest route? Usually with importing 3D Blu-rays I always pick Amazon UK because that's cheapest and most convenient route. But thanks to Sony (or whoever made this decision), that's not possible for this movie.....

Amazon UK appears to have it listed and available for pre-order....for now!

Otherwise, Amazon Germany or Italy are secondary options followed by Sanity in Australia.

For me, this would have been disastrous news a year ago but with Into the Spider-Verse (IMHO the best Spider-Man movie ever made) Sony has proved recently they can make good Spider-Man movies.

Weird, so did Sony change their mind on this one ? Maybe they noticed lots of people importing and decided to do a UK 3D release after all.

Pre-ordered, hopefully it's the real deal so I can cancel my Aus order, but will keep that one for now, just in case.

More likely because it became the largest grossing film of all time for Sony after the blu Ray was originally announced. Highly unlikely they’re paying attention to who’s importing what or the US would still be getting these titles in 3D as well

Even with it being the highest grossing Spider-Man film, still seems weird they would change their mind on a 3D version, as we all know these companies want to push 4k and normal blu-ray over 3D these days. Venom did fantastic and they didn't change their mind on that one over here.

Anyway not complaining, hopefully this is the real deal and
not an Amazon error that gets cancelled.
