Maybe meanwhile things are changed? However it's not a type of subject I keep tracking regularly.

Not sure exactly what happened but after looking around it seems they started only making PlayStation discs at the US Sony DADC. It was obvious to me when they made the change because movies started coming from them in the same boxes that every other studio uses from Technicolor instead of their unique tape-free boxes. From what I can tell Technicolor distributes basically all movies in the US now from their facilities in Tennessee and Alabama.

I wouldn’t write off some new extras just yet. I have heard some are in the pipeline.

Special features have gotten worse like barely 5 minutes total sometimes. I’ll still keep the BD for this reason.

Steelbooks seem to have the only push back. Top Gun is a bit more drastic, but everything else is a few months.

Considering how little space these features take up, it's irrelevant. If anyone thinks they can tell the difference between an overall bitrate that's been boosted by 3GB, they're delusional.

Is this a new transfer? I have the transfer on Blu Ray from 2011.

Wish we get a U.C.E. packaging again on a new transfer at some point, and a new Atmos track even though the 5.1 was great.

The digital cinema version was a new master.
