As it is (for me) it's like BVS a movie that has great set pieces rather than being a great movie.
For me BvS is a great movie... it is deeper than most realize.
Again... why this DC in a Marvel movie?
Different worlds... different characters... different tastes.
Just enjoy.

I just brought up BvS because I always return to the movie because of the warehouse fight.

Even the Knightmare is on par with the warehouse fight.
That movie is a statement of how Bruce Wayne's head is at that moment... a total mess. After all, it's a Batman movie.
Since the opening scene to the last, that movie is rich in details and the 3D works great on those details.

Wow, what's up with the trolling and gaslighting in this thread?

Dug the movie and look forward to getting in on 3DBD. I would imagine this is going to be another Japanese exclusive 3D release, man being a 3D collector is starting to get expensive!

I'm a little bit on the fence about the 3D disc, would be nice if it was more easily available... If I did get it it would be above all for the amazing last half-hour of the movie, which is drop-dead gorgeous to look at and easily one of the best conclusions of any MCU movie - or for that matter, of any CBM ever made!

If you don't watch this in 3D then you're not watching it the way it was meant to be seen.

This is definitely a “No 3D. No Sale” movie for me. The plot is non-sensical, the sister character is like nails on a chalkboard, and the main character lacks the presence necessary for a superhero lead.

But those set-pieces in 3D are VERY well-done and to a 3D enthusiast like myself, worth the price of admission alone!

I give it an 80% chance of coming out in 3D Bluray somewhere.

Let's not predict too much while the other Disney 3D movies don't see the day light.

So far every MCU movie has been released in 3d Bluray ever since they started releasing 3D blurays.

Plus this one is a legit blockbuster unlike BW…

I'm still not sure this counts as a legit blockbuster. Depends on the definition of blockbuster, but if it's "made beaucoup bucks" then the jury is still out as this hasn't yet broken even with just its production budget.

But I stand by my idea that if Disney wants to try and silence the critics then it needs to blast this out in a spectacular 3D physical release that actually makes it into physical retail stores new.

I don't see why the profitability of a movie should be the main criteria for wanting to have the 3D blu-ray or not - either you feel the movie's artistic merits are solid enough regardless of other considerations, or you don't. But, for what it's worth, the jury is not "out" on whether or not Shang-Chi is going to make a profit, as anyone would know if they, you know, actually read the information that is easily available on the Internet....

Let's at least see if Jungle Cruise has a 3D release and where, and then we may be assured that this movie has great chances that the 3D pack will be released.

#1 - Shang Chi is MCU. JC is not

#2 - Shang Chi was a theatrical exclusive. JC was not.

#3 - Shang Chi broke cinematic sales records. JC did not.

BW, JC and SC have all performed very well at the box-office, considering the circumstances. Sure, they'd have done much better during normal times.

But unfortunately, Disney doesn't care too much about physical media any more, they are much more interested in pushing streaming subscriptions.

Disney has the last word in these releases. I'm not being pessimistic. I'm anxious that this also gets 3D release, but let's see if at least Jungle Cruise has 3D then we'll know that shang-chi will definitely have it's 3D pack release.
We don't know how long the contract with the japanese manufacturer will last and if Disney will renew or negotiate to keep them coming. They shut down contracts with other manufacturers.

Not sure what contracts you’re referring to but movieNex in Japan has been around a very long time and there is no indication they are stopping.

Shang chi broke the Labor Day record regardless of the circumstances.
