Okay very curious how the special features are going to work. The press release says they'll all be on a blu-ray, but with the 4K not advertising blu... they better not cheap out and not have special features.

Also very curious if the special features are going to simply be those BTS footage that is already available on YouTube about all the stunts. Will this have anything new? All the new stuff appears to be digital only.

As the bonus features are on a second BD, that is probably included w/ the 4K. You wouldn't say 4K + BD if the feature wasn't on the BD, it doesn't mean there isn't a BD included.

I assume it works like this.

The 4K + Digital is a two disk set.4K movie disk + Blu Ray special features disk.

The Blu Ray + Digital is a two disk set.Blu Ray movie disk + Blu Ray special features disk.

4K steelbook + Digital is a three disk set.4K movie disk + Blu Ray movie disk + Blu Ray special features disk. I hope anyway. If it's only the 4K movie disk, I'll have to return it since I don't have 4K and no Blu Ray movie disk is useless for me.

Yeah but so far the steelbooks for new films(not catalog) and some store exclusives from Walmart include both 4k + Blu Ray format in the package. or Blu Ray + DVD for some Walmart steelbooks and Target exclusives.

I'll pick it up regardless of the 2 digital exclusives special features. I find that really lame but whatever. I'm just hoping the 4k and blu-ray will have the IMAX scenes like Fallout and Top Gun did. I didn't get to see this in IMAX so I'm hoping I can see it on the 4K.

The Steelbook is a no-brainer; that's the one to get in order to support Tom Cruise and Paramount Pictures.

It seems that the BTS is just what's already been released for marketing, which is a real shame. 30 mins of basic EPK stuff, so the only 'real' extras are the commentary, deleted shots, and editorial featurette, of which the last two are digital only.

Compare this to Fallout's 58 mins of BTS featurettes and Rogue Nation's 98 mins!

I just hope down there line the deleted footage montage on disc in a box set or something. That was the feature I was looking forward to the most.

Nope, just fan made. Every time there's an interview with the editor or Director and they bring up the fact that the first cut was longer (duh!), it's always the same story with fans: "Release the longer cut!"

Don’t forget there are the strikes happening, and I wonder if filming during COVID makes it harder to have an additional BTS crew following the action.
