Yeah, it was supposed to be "The Girl Who Wouldn't Die", a film that had no relation to American Psycho and despite what Wikipedia says, it was rather late into production when the producers decided to shoehorn Patrick Bateman and the entire American Psycho connection into it, much to Mila Kunis' chagrin.

Not what you asked but "caps" are up on "o holic" and seems like the 15th anniversary UK disc and this new DE is pretty similar. Little more picture information on UK, almost exactly same PQ otherwise, maybe a tint warmer colors on DE?

Yeah I had checked the comps. I noticed the same thing. The German looks just barely sharper in some. I was mainly asking because I noticed a lot of extras on it.

I swear, sometimes I question my decision to collect so many discs. I felt like giving this film a whirl tonight, and, wouldn't you know it: the disc was unreadable... on two different Blu-ray players. I guess I have an excuse to pick up the 4K release now, but is there any reason to think that the Blu-ray that is included with that release won't also go bad in time? From what I've read, Lionsgate discs are particularly susceptible to this sort of problem. Have they remedied this issue with their later pressings?

It hasn't been reported for discs newer than 2011 or so, so it seems resolved, and newer pressings of American Psycho (including the 4K+BD release) should be fine.

Finally got around to watching the 4K disc not long ago and wow!
All the issues that have bugged me from dvd to the old bd are gone and the movie has probably never looked better, although I have never had a chance to see a 35mm print.

One scene that always looked like crap to me was the dark street when he's pulling up in the limo to pick up the hooker. Just a nasty looking mess on every previous disc, now crystal clear without any noticeable issues.

If you are 4K ready or capable, this is a must upgrade!

Could someone help me out by finding a source for one of the superior region free international versions?

Ideally I'd just get the 4K release, but I don't have a 4K setup yet. Been trying to search for one of the Region Free Non-DNR versions of the Blu-ray and can't seem to find a copy.

Any help will be appreciated.

Try the Australian version of the film which is on a region free BD-50, is released and encoded by Sony, has TrueHD lossless audio, AVC video and no DNR. This disc is still quite good to the point that I haven't bothered upgrading yet as the difference is not as drastic as others like Predator, Big Lebowski etc

I purchased mine from eBay Australia: eBay.com.au. A lot of sellers there ship to the U.S. It cost me around $15.

Im sure there were South African releases dirt cheap on ebay years ago - I got one for my brother and it was exactly the same disc as the Australian one I had.

The 4K is a BIG step up. Honestly if you are a fan of this film its worth going 4K just for this. The UK 4K release has the newer UK Blu-ray too and that is definitely as good as the Australian if not a touch better. So get the 4K.

This! It's a must watch in 4K. Blows away any other previous release.
