Eh...I have a love/hate thing with the Storm. It finally crapped out and Verizon gave me a brand new one so I can't complain. The curve is nice but the touchscreen is better...I'd wait for the Blackberry Storm 2 to come out if you are interested in the Storm..it's a huge improvement.

Have and love my Palm Pre. I used my friends iPhone the other day and it just seemed olddd. More sluggish and you cant multitask.

Love my PRE

Still no set date but rumor is November. I'd hold out..I'm still not sure how much it will go for though. If you're adamant about getting a new phone right away...the Storm is only $50 now which is a good deal but the Storm 2 is definitely worth the wait..

yeah, i dont really need to get a new phone, but i can renew now and get the discount, what are the difference in features between the two that make it worth the wait/extra cash?

The big features are it's A LOT faster. The Storm had a lot of bugs and the launch devices needed a daily battery pull.. The S2 has a lot more memory.

54 MB of vs 879.2 MB.

Wi-fi...the storm lacked the ability to connect to a wireless network..this angered a lot of people. Some argue that what is the point of having wi-fi when you have a data plan? Wireless is a lot faster if you're in a network.

Comes with a better camera.

Touch pad has some improvements and is a lot faster. Some people had difficulty texting.

I'm exited about it. However, I'm not up for an upgrade until another year...

The new BB Curve 8520 for T-Mobile looks sweet. I may jump on that. It uses the new optical tracking instead of the trackball.

i couldnt help myself, i didnt want to live with my broken screen voyager any longer, i got the original storm last night, for free with my upgrade offer, so far its great, it does look like it eats a lot of battery, but that may also be because i was listening to the i heart radio app this morning

i actually like the touch screen on this, it was impossible to use the screen on the voyager for txt messaging, but i like that it highlights the letter on the keyboard so you know what you are pressing before it shos up on screen

any good tips on how to make better use of the phone that i might not know, or any really good apps i should check out?

My buddy likes his Storm as it is, but even so IIRC he said he was goign to get a Storm 2 and keep the Storm as backup. I think my N97 dusts his Storm in just about every way, but that's neither here nor there.

I'm gonna hope for a release of the Blackberry Onyx by the time I qualify for my upgrade. I would get an unlocked phone but they don't support the 3G bands here in the states, only EDGE.

Only use Sprint, AT&t doesn't work much out here and we don't have any other cell stores.
Go with the Palm Pre, it is easily the best phone on the sprint network.

I believe now that the pre is cheaper which makes it an even better decision.

There's a rumor that Deutche Telekom wants to buy Sprint/Nextel.

Interesting because of the 3 different bands that would need to be integrated.

Has anyone transferred a number before? For instance I'm looking at switching to att(I thought it would be better to stay with verizon since they offered an amazing deal on the EnV touch, but this phone eats batteries like no phone I've ever seen) and want to keep my existing number I entered it on the website and it said congratulations you can switch your number. Just wondering how it works, and do I need to cancel with verizon? Or in att taking the number would it cancel itself?

If you are out of contract it will automatically cancel with the old carrier. It's not bad. For the first week or may so you might still get calls on the old phone but all the new ones will be made on the new phone.

Yeah, I'm nowhere near out of contract it's worth 170 or whatever to be rid of the horrid EnVtouch battery life. + I've never been one who cares about having to pay to break contracts.

Then just switch it and tell Verizon you are going to pay the fees. Done!

I'm going to upgrade to the Blackbery Onyx in Dec. As long as it is released by then. All signs point to Nov for release.

Xperia 3 details should be incoming in the next month or so, might be on for December release!

Pre-production models have already slipped out...

From what I have heard, it is Android, capacitive touch screen, no physical keyboard, app-store, 3.9G (not sure what that means, maybe 21Mb compatible as Voda rolled it out recently).

only thing i can assume from 3.9g is it supports the faster(est?) hspa.

i know i'm gonna end up being pissed for it never coming to the us..right max?

white please

specs are awesome..only thing they could have added to make it better was oled.
