They should go with an original name for the movie and maybe leave the original name for a remake down the line of the first.

I think Brosnan is a solid actor but i don't really feel he's landed many big A List roles as he used to, and James is a solid actress if given the proper direction but nine of them scream blockbuster.

Built-in audience cache. Much like that terrible Point Break remake from a few years back that had almost nothing in common with the original, giving it a familiar name almost guarantees some people will see it on title recognition alone.

I wouldn't be surprised if they amended it to Cliffhangers at some point though...

Jaume Collet-Serra is a very hit-and-miss director, but he does have talent. I’m a big fan of the original, but I’m honestly glad Stallone isn’t returning. Lily James looks good in those first-look photos. She’s a good actress and I liked her in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Baby Driver, and The Iron Claw. I'm glad they brought in a veteran actor like Pierce Brosnan, so I’ll definitely be giving this a watch.

Exactly, why even try to tie it into the stallone film. Cliffhanger is a banger of a movie, if you want to do something with a similar theme , go ahead but dont try to get cliffhanger fans to see it based on the attachemnt to the original
