Empire is easily the best of the franchise, I hope you enjoy it.

Maybe that's something we can all agree with?

As for the comparisons, maybe James Bond Volume 1 with six bona fide blockbusters (with Die Another Day and The Phantom Menace been equals....) released over a long period at the cinema 1962 to 2002 vs 1977 to 2005 for our beloved Star Wars. Bond RRP 89.99, Star Wars 89.99. Only difference Obi-Wan's wig was worse than Connery's and the extras were re-fried from the DVD's....

PM is a lot better than Die Another Day. In fact the worst of Star Wars is no where near as bad as the worst of Bond and the Best of Bond is nowhere near as good as the Best of Star Wars (which is Empire, I agree there).
BUT I'll take them as a good comparison price wise for content.

And to be fair, the Bond box set doesn't include three discs worth of extras.

Shame there wasn't the sort of choice fans of District 9 had, eh? Nice package that tin, one for collectors and fans alike

Dunno? Ask the Jurassic Park fans who bought their statue set? Think they got everything with that set though, as well as the statue?

Although that German release looked good, the wooden box like the gates to the park. Nice touch that. Good to see some thought and effort put into a release of such a blockbuster.

As I've said, bought the standard

The statue set didn't have the inserts found in the tin.

I don't even understand that. What point are you trying to make exactly? This creepy stalker nonsense is actually kind of freaking me out.

Just an example of where sometimes, its nice for a fan of a certain movie to be able to go for a smarter looking package of that film.
Something that stands out a little, from other Blus on their shelf. Thats all.

And no one is saying that thats a bad thing. Not to mention the fact that the complete saga DOES have special packaging. Have you even seen it? It's not just an amaray you know? Its the sort of construct as the African Queen LE actually, not that I expect you've seen that either.

Yeah its a beautiful movie. But for HB, I'm more Maltese Falcon.

You like the SW release, I don't for the money. Think this thread should be left to discuss the movies and their PQ/AQ extra etc

Enjoy your xmas

Anyone notice that the end of AOTC was re-cut on blu compared to the dvd ?

Dooku escapes first then it cuts to Anakin & Obi-wan with Yoda on the dvd.

Starts with Anakin, Obi-wan & Yoda then cuts to Dooku's escape on the blu.

Haven’t seen AOTC on Blu yet. The recut mentioned, does it come across better than how it was on DVD ? In your opinion.
Is it not a noticeable difference or does it make better viewing?

I guess it makes more sense now, as before Dooku is almost out of the solar system before Padme arrives (after she was severely winded falling out of the transport) to see Obi-Wan and Anakin injuries.

Oh, Thanks. Sounds like a good bit of tinkering, for a change.

I usually don't mind little changes like this as it make a bit more sense time wise. The original sequence never really upset me though, so I'm happy either way. Although I sound a bit of a hypocrite when I agree with some changes and hate the others with every fibre of my being.

So basically if George wants to shoot me a PM I'm happy to discuss how I feel the films should look and sound like, then I'd be happy. In fact we need technology to advance to the point where everyone gets their own cut of the film....
