Me personally, I'm just gonna get TDKR, since it is being released on my birthday (Dec. 4), since I already have the BB and TDK Blu's. Then, when the UCE is announced, I'll decide whether new transfers, if done, or special features warrant a double-dip, though probably only the former. If it's just new special features, I'll more than likely pass. I can always hock the ones I have now for it later. Last edited by killermike2178; 11-19-2012 at 11:04 PM. |

Yeah, that's the one I'm waiting on.
Giving what WB has done with their Ultimate Collector's Editions this year, along with HBO's releases this year and the Harry Potter Wizard's Collection, I'm almost 100% positive that the Ultimate Collector's Edition will look like this: Six BD's and 3 DVD's. (Begins, Knight, Knight Special Features, Rises, Rises Special Features, UCE Bonus disc, and DVD's of the three films). Plus, UV codes. Last edited by Jumpman; 11-19-2012 at 11:14 PM. |

It's a really good deal. It's only a few bucks more than just buying TDKR by itself. Maybe I should pick up the trilogy set and sell my copies of BB and TDK. At the end of the day I would end up spending less than just picking up TDKR by itself. Hmmmm.

Hmm, is it just me or do the non-IMAX sections not look so hot? I hope they didn't downgrade them with digital tinkering like on The Dark Knight BD (although it is clear they are nowhere near that bad)

They didn't look so hot in either IMAX or digital projection either. Nolan's analog post-production process doesn't make for great blu-rays unfortunately... especially when it's competing against 8K scans of IMAX negative.

Ah, yes that is unfortunate. I haven't seen the film yet so I have nothing to compare to, but that it is faithful to the theatrical presentation is good to know.

Good review on the movie and the video and audio. I wish there were more special features but I guess that will come next year in the inevitable double dip.
Glad you also brought up the dark Knight bd, transfer. I haven't watched it in years because it's so weak. |
