Not amazing, but pretty damn entertaining.

Some of the flaws:

Not as juicy as the book.

Too many cast and crew members missing. Jason Goes to Hell and Freddy vs. Jason especially.

No Never Sleep Again style character introductions.

Watching this on youtube. Will definitely pick up the disk when I have funds.

Little to much plot summary for some of the films though, with little production details.

Considering, it's almost a 7 hour documentary, it would have been tough getting any juicer or into other aspects of the movies without, most likely, doubling the length.

You got the standard version with the bonus disc?

What all do they talk about in the bonus section for the remake?

Yeah, I hate to say it, but if you've read the book there's not much that's new here.

I mean, it was clearly a labour of love, and the folks involved did a great job and should have their efforts applauded, but as a guy who absolutely tore through that big, beautiful book...the film left me a bit cold.

There's a digital version that contains more images and interviews than the hardcover book. I own the hardcover - it's very nice, but a word of warning - the first one I received a few years ago fell apart the first time I opened it up to read (it was a gift bought from Amazon). Because it was purchased more than 30 days earlier Amazon wouldn't replace it and neither would the book manufacturer. It's a heavy book and was likely damaged due to Amazon's lousy packaging. It looked fine but upon opening it the spine was obviously damaged, with many of the pages coming out when opened.

I will be ordering from Barnes And Noble, better to spend a little extra and get it in good condition. Off to order and I might get the digital version too.

Thanks for mentioning this, didn't realize there was a digital edition. Just downloaded a sample first chapter of the enhanced edition, may have to purchase this!

Yeah, be careful that you get the right one - they have a text only one, and then an "enhanced" one for a few bucks more with all the pics. I was halfway through the text version when I realized that they had two different ones...

Would this be a worthwhile buy if I'm really only a fan of the original film??

Anyone know of an official site or has anyone heard if there have been any rumblings of possible future Documentaries by the 1428 Films crew? I LOVE both Never Sleep Again and Crystal Lake Memories and am hoping that there is still the possibility other franchises (or even sub genres...slasher for instance) could be looked into. I can't seem to find any info on the 1428 films team or even an official webpage anymore. I'm aware of the upcoming "Leviathon: The Making of Hellraiser and Hellraiser 2" documentary by another Doc. crew, but is that all we know of right now?

With the big Halloween set due out, I wouldn't be surprised if 1428 already reached out to all the required studios to see if they could do something.
Oh man, that would make a great companion piece to this set. Talk about Halloween overload!

There's no such thing as Halloween overload.

I ordered this BD from B&N for aroudn $15 two months ago and it STILL hasn't shipped out. They now claim it is shipping in mid-August. Is it OOP? I can't even find it in stock at most of the sites that I buy from.

Thommy Hutson, producer of Crystal Lake Memories, is doing a kickstarter for a book about the first Nightmare on Elm Street film.
