Agreed. They can take forever, even if you're not doing them with randoms.
Just try it on the Level 36 Vanguard Strike playlist. Much more doable.

Try it on the Taken ultra's that show up in the patrols after you kill three lieutenants. Could be quicker, I don't know just an idea and obviously would need to be tested.

It works on Taken Champions. Not every time, but they're Ultras, so they count.

A good group of my friend's are addicted to this game. It is all they talk about at work. They keep talking about the looting system and farming/waiting for "drops".

Last week I ran the Regicide mission 18 times, with minimum 10 minute breaks in between runs.
This mission has "3" Ultras.
I dropped a 3 of Coins before every Ultra and ended up getting 17 Exotic Engrams in those 18 runs with 54 three of coins used.
Not quite as good as his ratio, but not too bad.

As I posted earlier, the Regicide daily heroic had 4 Ultras yesterday and I got 2 Exotics out of it.

Look at your numbers. You got an exotic for every THREE ToCs you used. Coincidence?

I'm glad, every minute wasted on multiplayer is a minute taken away from the main game.

I tried that 3 of Coins strategy once last night, using a 3oC on my 3rd strike and didn't get an exotic so it's not 100%. Although the final strike I was brought into a strike that was half way done plus I did die before beating the boss so....

I used my three of coin while I was in orbit before I was brought into the strike if that had something to do with it who knows.

Destiny just needs V.A.T.S., and it will feel the same.

I'll be on but not to raid just to collect my bounties and try that 3oC strategy on the Strikes again.
