Congratulations.

I only had a couple of interactions with Kosty via PM, but he was a absolute gent.

Kosty was a true gentleman. No matter what was posted, he always took the high road.

High Def Forum and the High Def Digest Forum are no more BTW.

Congratulations on your blu-ray.com anniversary! There are some here who attach great significance to such seniority. Seriously, though, you have brought a lot of great information to these forums and you have been very helpful to many. Keep it up.

I never knew Costy , but I have heard many people speak very highly of him. The fact that he is still fondly remembered after all of this time is a testimony to him.

Samsung and I traded phone messages until finally we got in touch. I think it’s still out of my range price wise but I am still interested in it. like Lee I believe in the coming of micro led tvs.

You're gonna knock your own house down with all of that bass! When you use your home theater with the right movie, it probably registers on the Richter scale. I can go to the United States Geographical Survey's website, check their map, and see exactly when you are watching movies.

I decided to buy 12 Monkeys The Complete Series on blu-ray as you planted that bug in my ear as well. You've cost me about $110 this month; please go away until October.

Never was a member of High Def Forum, was a High-Def Digest member but not posted there in many years. Good to see Hollywood in Hi-Def and DVD & Blu-ray Release Report still available.

There is a fault line is Missouri already, so I have an alibi I guess. I bought Bates Motel since you had it even though you haven’t popped it in yet, so we are almost even. Just wait until it comes time for you to upgrade your speakers, as I plan on being a very expensive acquaintance then.

Congrats on the tenure Wendell. I am curious if you subscribed (or maybe still do) to any industry magazines back in the day before Al Gore invented the internet.

After a week of using my new Panasonic UB840 I must say I'm impressed. I guess I was naive to think that a player couldn't make that much of a difference in picture quality. Sure, the die hard enthusiasts could pick apart every pixel but I thought for the most part it wouldn't be noticeable unless you were scrutinizing the differences. I was wrong.

The image is much cleaner and sharper than on my Sony X800. Not night and day difference, but just enough for me to notice. I'm no technical expert when it comes to AV but the image just seemed a bit clearer on the new player. I plan to reconnect my X800 when my new TV arrives so I can do an A/B comparison but I expect the my first impressions to be validated.

As to the TV, I ended up ordering the Vizio PX75-G1. It's last year's model but it saved me $400 compared to the new 2021 version which apparently has some problems. Rtings.com has it as the best TV you can purchase as an alternative to the LG CX OLED. The HDR Peak Brightness Real Scene is 1406 cd/m which is higher than any other TV I've seen and they say the contrast is close to an OLED. I should have it late next week.

Talking about Sound&Vision, and yes I go back to the Home Theater Mag days, here are a couple of good Articles. Netflix is offering some Free Streaming:

I already get Netflix for free. All of it...and even with it being free I seldom use it. That's how much their offerings interest me with very few exceptions.

Congratulations on your new TV and 4K disc player! I hope that you are as happy with your new TV as you are with your new player.

I was wondering if you could test out a few DVDs on your new Panasonic 4K disc player as compared to your Sony X800. I have read on more than one occasion that the Panasonic 4K disc players do not upscale DVDs as well as do other 4K disc players and I would like to know if you, or any other Panasonic owners, notice any deficiencies in that area.

It's hard to upgrade hardware when I keep buying more discs. I have 20 more titles enroute now.

There’s so many great new releases and so many deals on older stuff.

It seems like Black Friday prices are easily found every day now.

I’m buying more than ever recently and loving it.

Today was the first day my kids are back in class at school since March on Friday the 13th. I’m enjoying time of my own to get caught up on great new releases and really enjoying my home theater.

I will try it out and let you know. I may go ahead and run that test this weekend since the TV isn't as important with DVD's.
