Is it me or does the "1997 special edition" cgi look soft in ANH? Was expecting that to be the most crisp.

They are soft (at least the ronto that discretely passes the screen twice, can't remember if the rest is as soft). Maybe they were done in a relatively low resolution?

If your referring to the one that passes by in the foreground, have you considered that it's mean't to be out of focus?

I was hoping to see a price drop on this in the year. Amazon still wants 50 pounds for it!

No. There have been many comments about how bad the 1997 CGI looks.

Not Blu-ray related but still news worthy.

British Darth Vader fighter dies aged 89

RIP Bob.

Had the pleasure of meeting him in London.

Both the ronto that passes in front and the ronto with the hilarious gag

Indeed. If there was a sword-fight in a film within the last 60 years Mr. Anderson probably had his hand in it. From James Bond to Star Wars to The Hobbit....

Not to mention OT which shouldn't be more than 50% of the Complete saga's price and yet it's £33.99!

No, you're not, I liked it too. It's nobody's favourite Star Wars film and it certainly isn't mine, but I still liked it.

It's fresh on RT, was a good movie (watched it a few times myself over the years), just was no where near as good as the OT.

And left fans (fanboys?) seething at some of the decisions

I think whether you're hung or not depends more upon genetics.

Speaking of which (I should have posted this over Christmas):

Darth Vader to Luke Skywalker: "I know what you got for Christmas"
Luke: "You do?"
Vader: "I can feel your presents"

Courtesy of Prairie Home Companion.

[Show spoiler]
That'd definitely get me to see it in 3D.

I can't quite get around the black bread. The other one looks pretty horrible too to be fair, the cheese (at least I presume its cheese) looks unusual too!
