That Iron Bowl is going to be all out war. You have to wonder if the NCAA gets more evidence on Newton between now and then. His status for the game is still up in the air.

LOL, where do you get this stuff? his status is not up in the air. unless the NCAA says otherwise, Cam is going to play. i don't consider that to be up in the air. it's that cut and dry and no amount of speculation on anyone's part is going to change that.

Yeah I agree... Unless something crazy happens he'll be good all year then it won't matter. I wouldn't even care if He was at UMD and we were #2 in the country I'd put up with just about anything for a national championship even if they took it away. can't ever take those feelings fans have of winning games, or winning a trophy.

Come on now. There's no possible way Cam wouldn't at least have knowledge of his father's dealings. Sounds like his dad is covering for him.

The top 7 are almost exactly how I'd rank them. I'd flip Auburn and Oregon at #1 and 2 but the rest are good.

Yeah, I don't buy that either. I'm eager to see what the outcome of the NCAA investigation is, can you imagine if Auburn goes on to win a national title and then it is revealed that they paid Newton? I really, really hope that does not happen.

I'm sure that's what Auburn would like to happen - for this investigation to get drawn-out. Look at USC, they had an ineligible player in Reggie Bush win 2 national titles for them and thanks to the delays in investigation they never had to give those back.

Yeah I mean I just don't know what kind of relationship they have... I know if it was my family that would never fly (I know everything ), but there are allot of shady parents around some of these kids.

I mean I hate Lebron but like his real dad getting a DNA test and then asking for money I wouldn't put it past a person like that to go behind his kids back and ask for money.

I think they would rather win the title and then have the investigation happen. Regardless the penalties are the same, so they'd probably prefer to enjoy the title and deal with the repercussions later.

Lebron's "real dad" got a DNA test and it showed he wasn't Lebron's father, but the man claimed Lebron and his mom had the results altered.

I don't like Newton, but I really hope this is all untrue. I hope he had no knowledge of it all.

Good point. I thought at the time that Auburn was a better team than USC. Auburn got hosed bigtime in 2004. The only other team I can think of that got shafted by the polls that much was 1994 Penn St.

yea it really bothered me that going into the texas-usc rose bowl all they talked about was USC going for 3 in a row....LSU is the BCS champion from 2003, not USC....just found it really annoying....and the 94 penn st team was pretty loaded...woulda been a good matchup to see them play tommy frazier and company

Auburn went 13-0 in the 2004 season, not 2003. In 2004 there were three major undefeated teams - USC, Oklahoma and Auburn and Auburn got the short end while USC destroyed Oklahoma in the title game. I think Auburn was relegated to the Suger Bowl where they beat Virginia Tech.
