I am intrigued by that Marantz SR8015; it is significantly more expensive, but that's not a dealbreaker, either.
At least you have a fair amount of discount you can likely find with that model. So yeah not pushing the latest and greatest, if you want to use that a substitute for the 4806 RIP. SR8012 is also something that is discounted.

If you wondering I look at the EU sites, it's because USA doesn't offer much in the way of die hard magazines/web sites like EU does with audio/video products.

They have pushed out Black Widow and some other Tent Pole Movies. So I guess you guys have to settle for Catalog Movies to fill the void. Without big Movies what are you guys going to do?

I’ll, like I usually do, watch one of my discs, like this one coming in tomorrow...

...which isn’t available at all on streaming services. These movies being delayed really makes little difference to me, there are only a handful of delayed films I’m interested in and most of them probably wouldn’t play at theaters in my area anyway, so I’d just be waiting for home video. Same difference.

A movie isn't "big" simply because it is "new." Any movie that I enjoy immensely is "big."

Any movie that I haven't seen is new to me, so whether it is a brand new release or a catalog title is meaningless. The date of release has no bearing on how much I enjoy a movie.

There is no shortage of movies to watch, so I am as entertained now as I was before the pandemic.

The price difference between the Marantz SR8012 and the new SR8015 is only $200. The price difference between the Denon X6500H and the new X6700H is $700.

Other than 8K capability, which I don't need, and the return of the AM/FM tuner, which I do want, I am not seeing much in the way of differences between these latest models and their immediate predecessors.

Do you really think that any of us have a problem with watching catalogue movies?

We wouldn't have collections of thousands of movies if we were only interested in watching big new releases.

I guess if we ever get tired of catalog titles, our collections, or all the tv series available on Blu-ray, we can always spend $15 on the movie Rogue like you did.

Rogue was only $10, and there are a lot of new Movies and TV Shows on Streaming that will never make it to Disc. So I guess you will have to be satisfied with Old Catalog Titles.

I am very satisfied with the thousands of titles that are available just a few feet from where I'm sitting. I will continue to be satisfied with the the additional thousands of titles I add to that collection over the course of my life.

You act like physical media is a wasteland where we have to scrounge for scraps. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Nothing about that news or the article you linked to is a physical vs digital issue at all. Delays of big movies affect physical and digital equally.

You're just trying to start an argument. Again.

There are a few movies and shows that are original to a particular subscription streaming service and many of these may never see a physical release, but I can live with that as most of this stuff is entirely forgettable fluff and filler as far as I am concerned. Much of it isn't even worth watching once, yet alone to own. Even with my having free access to Netflix, I haven't watched anything there in several months because what I own interests me far more.

There also remains a vast amount of content that no subscription streaming service offers and there are also many titles that are not available to purchase digitally.

Unlike you and your eschewing of physical media entirely, I enjoy the widest possible selection of content. I own physical media; I use subscription streaming and I have a digital collection every bit as big as yours.

I'm not missing out on anything, but you sure are.

Ok so I finally took the plunge and have been watching a lot of streaming lately having never tried it before. I will be sticking with my discs. Just can't tolerate the drop in resolution. Even the Dolby vision doesn't compensate. Will only use streaming for things I can't get on disc and have to have lol.

Folks may be interested in reading 4K UltraHD Into the Vaults here. Looks like The Beastmaster, Tremors and others will get the UHD disc treatment (here).

sorry to hear. A bit late but I wish them all the best, people do recover from going to the hospital and the ICU so keep up the hope. You need to take good care of yourself

A key point the streaming trolls miss. Some of us disc folks have way more invested in streaming than the streaming only trolls have and makes me when I see their silly post.
