So I'm curious; he seems to know about cars.

* And I agree with him about EV.
By the way, a liter of gas (regular) here on the Island is $1.90 today. That's $8.55 a gallon!
It keeps climbing up to out-of-this-world orbit. Canada on the west coast is ultra expensive.
I might have to skip the Ferrari this year.

Lexus you said right? Got pictures and prices? Lexus is Japanese?
About $54,000 for a loaded IS350 F Sport AWD sedan, which is what sfmarine is interested in. And yes, Lexus is Japanese built. But 45% of the parts are sourced from America, 45% from Japan and ten percent the rest of the world combined.

Are you sure about the percentage? I thought it was 100% Japanese.
The “J” at the beginning of the VIN stands for Japan.

[Show spoiler]
Japan is where the IS is built. I was talking about where the parts are sourced from.

Important part though is assembly is performed in Japan.

Why are there so many people wearing winter coats and long pants today? Yes it's damp, we had thunderstorms last night (or rather early this morning) but it's in the upper 60s for crying out loud with a low tonight of only 50F! I feel like my thick northeastern skin isn't meant to live in the south. I work in a refrigerated warehouse where it's always about 36F and am always in shorts, year round, even when I'm just standing in one place on my forklift. I do have high BP so I typically warm up fast and sweat easily.

And for those of you wondering, yes I'm basically that stereotypical person you've likely heard about who wears nothing but shorts and a hoodie in a blizzard.

The fact that it was assembled in Japan was one reason I bought my Lexus. To me, Lexus is not a luxury car brand, but a best built Toyota. It is a boring car to drive, but it is comfortable, and crazy dependable. And cheap to fix. If I wanted a luxury, fun sedan, I'd get a BMW 5 or 7 series. But I'd get rid of it at the first hint of mechanical trouble. I plan on keeping my 2014 Lexus for another ten years of worry free driving.

Best's to have several vehicles for diversified functions ... grocery shopping, cruising relaxing, sports, working (truck), motorbike, fishing (boat), traveling long distances, scenic drives, romance drives, fast lane risk living free, bulletproof security, etc., etc., etc.

Why get stuck with just one car when life is full of them in all colors and styles?

One more pic for you sfmarine because I'm not sure if you browsed this forum much back when I posted it in 2020. I only stopped and took the picture. I didn't find out who the owner was or stop and chat.

Yeah, I was driving up the road coming from behind so the first car I saw was the McLaren, thinking it was a Lamborghini at the time. Visually, I find the McLaren more appealing and I was digging the color.
As for the Civic hatch, I thought you would appreciate that

Feeling like Asian tonight. So should I go with The Raid 2 (Berandal) or The Handmaiden? Both would be first viewings.

Going with Sin City the extended cut.

I get a lot of Ireland stuff in my FB feed. I'm not actually sure if that's what they call it these days but it's the stuff you see when you select the home icon. Anyway, seeing these stunning photos of Ireland makes me think I need to get back there one day and continue the vacation that I was supposed to have back in 2013. This is the image that inspired that thought just now

Yes, Ireland is calling your name.

Thinking about the feedback from NMSU on my resume, didn't realize they had done it on Monday. So now I have 2 new resumes, think I need to go into them on Monday and merge them together somehow.
