You can extend it to Clash Of The Titans.

Feel free to interpret the genre.

Nah. Fantasy and ancient mythology make it too distinct from the others. He's also not helping a bunch of random people in Clash of the Titans. And I don't remember watching a superhero movie that had that journey-like feel. You're just reaching too much to try and refute. RoboCop is one of the best superheroes. He does have the best movie of them all.

There are certain properties that I'll "extend" Super-heroes to.

Conan The Barbarian was a Marvel comic and Mego action figure.
John Carter Warlord Of Mars was a Marvel comic.
G.I. Joe was an action figure then a Marvel Comic, animated series and films.
The Micronaughts were action figures and a Marvel Comic.
The Transformers were action figures and then a Marvel Comic.
Star Wars became a Marvel comic.
Robocop, Terminator, Predator joined comic books as well.

Still reaching.

comic ≠ superhero

That upcoming Sandman series will be a comic-adapted show, not a superhero show.

He was initially involved with the sequels, but he'd likely take umbrage at any suggestion that he was responsible for them!
You can see the potential for a good movie burried in 2 (haven't seen 3 in decades so can't comment), but it's definitely burried.
