Steve, (Callas) I hope you will give great reviews on the new Anthem receivers

Only 2 of them are coming out real soon. the MRX 500 and the MRX 700.

1 more year for the MRX 900 and 6 month for the 300.

we'll see, I am hoping to have the receiver early next spring, I am hoping some professional reviews happen before that so I can get a grasp on its true power and sound.. then hear it for myself. But I will definetly give it a review once I hear it and own it.

I'll give ya a pro review of it as soon as I can audition it hehe , I intent to maybe try some nice Totem speakers with them.

The dealer where I go for Totem speakers has Anthem. You sure know it's a Paradigm product.

Steve,

Just came back from the Totem/Anthem dealer and I audition the Mite OMG wow this is a trmendous speaker but what I have to say is I have been rethinking this over and I think I might pull a Mite T, Mite T C and Mites combo with an MCA 30 cause looking at prices the MCA 30 is only 150$ more expensive than the PVA5 and drives so much more power but it's only 3 channels vs 5.

My dealer recommended me to do that.

you know I thought about a Mite and Mite T-C setup until I could swing the Sttafs.... then I could get the MRX500 and the speakers all in one yr perhaps......

did you hear the Mite TC? my dealer said the TC was good, but not nearly as good as the Rainmaker Center.....

I so do not know what path to go down.....

I would feel the same way comapring the Mites and the Rainmaker bookshelves but I want to audition the Mite T in pair wich is really a Mite T center place Vertically and see what that brings out there is 300$ difference in price between the center channels.

The Mite T is design to work vertucally and horizontal.

Or I'll do Rainmakers fronts with Rainmaker center With Mites as surrounds, that way I will have a better center and front almost as good as the Sttaf.

You know the Mite Ts would give me 4 ohms load with an MCA30 rated 265 WPC all channels driven.

That would be a killer.

well how is the Mite/Mite-T-C setup? can you compare to the Sttafs and the Arros?

How well does the center channel do?

I have yet to hear the Mite T and Mite T Center.

I heard the Mites now they sound great, very similar to the Sttaf intone but alot less
botom end at 50 hz +/-3db it's noticeable but I can't give you much detail as the Mites were in an open space since customer were auditioning other Totem products in the room.

So the Mites were hooked up to an arcam mini solo, not nearly as dynamic as the FMJ A38 amp used in the Audition room so I can't give you a full review.

The reason why I'm thinking it's going to sound great with the Mite Ts is the extra driver, they go down 2 hz lower than the Mites. I'm going to give them plenty of power for great dynamics since they are 4 ohms, Last but not least I would have a perfect match in the front sound stage (3 identical speakers).

I want to audition them in the real audition room to give a good apreciation of staging, imaging, dynamics and low end extension.

But At second thaught Rainmaker Bookshelve with Rainmaker center is the same price as 3 Mite Ts so again I fall into a dilemma, their driver size are matching anyways.

I guess you want to know Mite Mite T C setup to know if you are going to use this transition, I would not see a major issue, they sound fantastic and your guy if he's looking only at puch or low end extension the Rainmakers are better for sure but all in all the Mites are a great speaker no doubt about it.

They sound just as detailed and natural as the Sttaf and you really appereciate the warm neutral sound of them, you really feel it's the same familly as the Sttaf.

Before I forget another thing to consider is how it will sound in multi channel music so no room for dreamcatcher in my book and maybe not so smart to do Rainmaker front sound stage and Mites as surrounds.

I'm really leaning more and more towards the Mite Ts - Mites combo over Staff - Mite combo for really good match all around now. I would save like 500$ like that.

I think he meant the way vocals and action scenes came through on the Mite-t-c vs the rainmaker center...

yeah, I don't know what to do. I want to make sure the receiver I get can power the speakers properly and that its musical so I am not dealing with a bright sound that will take away the musical sound of the speakers.

But Yeah, as we talked about before, I have been flirting with the idea of a mite/mite-t-c setup also so that i can get them more quickly... then add staffs or more mites for surrounds. We'll see....

Im glad your starting to find what you want to do tho. I think 3 Mite-t/t-cs would be a great setup. that would be about $1600 for speakers and then you can add an amp to your setup and you'd be set.

Possible since it sort of have the M T M designe so maybe the Rainmaker is better since it's a real center.

I'll see I might pull a 4 Rainmakers with Rainmaker Center just to keep Multichannel music in mind.

What color are you thinking of getting the speakers in, cause the Mites in black don't exactly have the same wood grain finish as the Staff therefore they are 100$ cheaper than in Mahagony?

That is the only speaker of the Totem line like that I find that odd but maybe they want more people to buy them so it gives acheaper option to the customer.

Just a thaught.

probably mahogany, I like it the best and it would liven up the room, but i need to get a different TV stand because the center channel wont work with what I have, plus the Audio rack I have will be too shallow to hold the new receiver..... so I am thinking a 3-n-1 stand where the TV will be mounted as if its on a wall but not really... Then I can have the speakers far enough apart so that they will have proper imaging and I can get the center channel underneath the TV also.

This is all why the process may take more then one year.... but who knows what the wife will let me get away with.... If I could spend $3k total, I could get mites, mite tc, speaker stands(not Totems'), a new TV/AV stand and the receiver....
