Most of the comments from Apple Centric users was zip interest. People don't like short form videos, since most services allow one to save timepoints, no one is interested in this. There were some suggestions of stitching short form content together, but is it at all appealing?

In general most that watch videos on phones usually opt for a larger phone size, then its also running the length of a phone not across. If you got a iPhone 11 Pro (5.8"), that would be HDR screen, 2436-by-1125-pixel resolution at 458 ppi, and 1200 nits max brightness. You might be amazed that picture quality is quite usable for a mobile party watching content while resting between stops. Would you be bothered by artifacts at that size likely not.

This is just a example that some people do use a phone for doing what you consider laughable. It's also a example you can't constrain watching videos only to at home.

WarnerMedia, HBO Max Taking a Road Trip

AT&T, WarnerMedia and General Motors have partnered offering drivers of select Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles access to high-speed Internet and video entertainment while on the go.

Dubbed “WarnerMedia Ride,” the platform offers video content on personal smartphones or tablets connected to in-car Wi-Fi hotspots. That includes news and sports programming and content from brands including Bleacher Report, Boomerang, Cartoon Network, CNN, TBS, TNT and more. AT&T plans to offer HBO Max on qualifying data plans next year.

So Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin, now acquired by Apple, is in 4K with Dolby Vision. They went big right off the back there. I know the Snoopy show was 4K but Great Pumpkin is from the mid-60's and they've already remastered in 4K DV? Works for me.

I only saw the story about Quibi's closure being mentioned on BBC News a few hours ago. Over $2 billion of an investment wasted in this service in which the owners acted so patronising & smug to their own target market which were meant to be millennials who owned a smartphone. I think I know who the smarter people are in this story. But in this case it's not the investors........more fool them for taking part in it in the 1st place.

People do lots of things that I consider to be laughable, but as their choices have no effect upon how I do things I don't really care.

I am well aware that some people like to watch stuff on their phones when they are out and about. I am not one of them; I prefer to be engaged with my surroundings and the people therein. If I wanted to watch stuff I would have stayed at home and used one of my TVs. I think watching a youtube video on my 32" computer monitor is slumming it. A 5.8" phone screen just doesn't cut it.

The Peanuts Holiday Collection 4K disc with HDR works for me.

It contains 9 Peanuts specials in both the original and the new widescreen presentations. It also includes both blu-rays and the digital copies. Dolby Vision would have been nice, but this set offers so much content and with two aspect ratios to choose from that I can more than be happy with just HDR. Having these specials on all three formats is nice, too. It is out of stock at the moment at most stores, but they typically sell it for about $30 when they do have it.

Most of the content was made to be compatible with long form tv services so that it could be transferred to streaming services when the two year exclusivity clause was up. Basically a Quibi series just becomes a mini series or two-part drama on long form, a film divided into eight or nine parts becomes a whole feature.

Right, I just saw the ATV app advertised yesterday for the first time.

Anyone buying Possessor on 4K disc? I have only bought U.K. 4K discs up to now. My question, if US distributors who are normally region free when releasing Blu-ray (Well Go USA) have the 4K disc and Blu-ray combo, will the included Blu-ray also be region free? I would like the Blu-ray as back up or to borrow to my dad.

True, but that set has been OOP for quite some time. The specials being on Apple TV now take away the temptation of overpaying for the discs. It's a nice compromise to have.

I have the new IP Man 4K flick from Well GO USA and it also comes with the BD. The back of the case says it's Region A, though. I'd wager that the Possessor BD will be Region A locked.

Maybe a review would mention the region code for the included Blu. The review on this site says region A but untested for B and C.

I like the book style packaging of the BTTF set and even the Hitchcock set.

My music sets often come with Blu rays in paper sleeves. I kind of like it.

If it results in damage though, I guess I won’t like that.

I guess the Jurassic Park set with slim cases may be the best as you save space and still have proper cases.

How do you know it's out-of-print? Before the Apple TV+ announcement, it was only $29.99, certainly far from overpriced to me. Maybe it's just a case of unprecedented demand for the item, and the supply was not ready to handle the influx of purchases, because everybody was suddenly rushing in to get their own copy. I'm sure in due time it should be resupplied, and stock will be stable again. I can't see a valid reason why would either this bundle or the individuals would suddenly disappear from the marketplace.

Well, here's hoping it it is resupplied. Amazon is completely cleared out, with only this one at almost $200 from a 3rd market seller and this one on eBay for $85:

https://www.amazon.com/Peanuts-Holid...s%2C221&sr=1-2

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Peanuts-Hol...AAAOSwuG9fkZwe

I mean, when was the announcement made? Has it even been a week? Hell. I didn't even realize it was available on 4K disc until Vilya posted the image of it. It was released back in 2017.

*Also, Apple owns the rights going forward, so if the hardcopies are all gone, don't expect a repressing. Apple doesn't do physical media.

Just researched and it’s region B also despite saying otherwise.

I should be fine to get Possessor.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Not true with all indie distributors who release 4K discs though as the packed-in BD can still be region locked e.g. Kino with Hannibal and Shout with Deer Hunter. So if you do import any more UHDs then it's best to keep checking.

Ah, good deal then. I'm blind buying the flick on 4K. Does look great, too.
