Got my tickets. I drove all the way to the same theater 2 1/2 years ago for a mere 7 minutes of Dark Knight Rises footage, so I imagine I'll do the same for 17 minutes of Guardians of the Galaxy.

Anyone know if this is the first 17 minutes of the movie or just a long ass trailer?

Well im sure it was the individual theater's decision, not a blanket thing for all theaters doing the preview. And specifically, I believe it was at the Tron Legacy one.

Its likely a few various scenes, not 17 straight minutes. Both the Avatar and Tron ones were about 5 or 6 scenes if I recall correctly.

My thoughts. At 17 minutes, I'd rather just wait the extra two weeks and see the actual film.

Looks like the Guardians of the Galaxy comic has now adapted Star-Lord's movie costume as well which is fine by me since his previous ones were always boring.

just got my copy of the prelude collection comics - the Groot and Rocket one's hilarious, and the Nebula/Gamora one seems kinda dark compared the tones of the trailers we've been given so far. Gonna read Starlord and Drax ones later

That does sound cool

. But, I think that would just feel like a long trailer from the movie, or in other words way too much of a big tease

. That's why I just wait until the movies theatrical release date when ever its a movie, that they are going to show parts of before the whole movie is released to theaters on its release date.

Oh cool, I just got an email from the local IMAX and they're doing a preview here in NZ as well on the 8th July. They've only got 50 double passes to give away but I entered the draw anyway because I'd definitely want that poster. I'm not sure I'd want to watch the first 17 minutes and then not be able to watch the rest, but the internet will be spoiling it all over so maybe it would just be best to go if given the chance. Fingers crossed.
