You're correct that the Mi4K wave of titles didn't include extras, but the titles that have the 'Mastered in 4K' title on the back, do include extras, i.e. the releases that BillWatkins has listed.

Speaking of Ghostbusters, I've been struggling with my opinion on keeping the 4K version.
GB is a dark, grainy film anyway and in the 4K the SFX are sharper, maybe some greenery is more natural but some backgrounds are just swimming like amoeba. I watched from the opening test scenes up through the 'busters running out of the library. Take a look at the light-colored books when we follow the librarian, when the book floats across behind her. The book is buzzy in the original but alive in the 4K. I have a 40" Samsung LCD set on "Standard", is that contributing? |

The comparisons for Lawrence are up at capsaholic, and I like what I see (my thoughts are in the comments section). As I said in a prior post, if Sony can squeeze even another one or two percent out of stellar titles like Lawrence then I gots to have it.

Improvement is about the same as Taxi Driver. And not that I am getting either, but because this one being spread over two discs would be even less worthy of an upgrade for me than Taxi Driver.
Also, not entirely sure why they did this: http://www.caps-a-holic.com/hd_vergl...ss=1#vergleich http://www.caps-a-holic.com/hd_vergl...ss=1#vergleich |

What, the extra sliver of matting? They probably did it to cover up the ringing along the borders which is quite pronounced on the regular Blu-ray (which suggests it's baked into the master, a 4K>2K downconversion artefact perhaps?) although the new mattes still have some slight ringing of their own.
I can see more of a difference there than I can with Taxi Driver. I'll have to give this one a spin sometime. |

I know for sure that a new 4K master is there for "A Few Good Men". It's on the new Sony 4K streaming service...
I hope we are getting that for the "Mastered in 4K" collection, it's one of my favorite movies ever.... Do you think it's possible this year? |

I'd buy the 4K master spread over 2 discs if it's ever released in the states, but I'm not paying the high JP importing price for it. The difference is at least marginal in terms of color saturation and fine detail.
