I'd recommend skipping both the old and new versions. That movie is unwatchable.

I just dug into the God's Bloody Acre disk, and I hope Acre is redemptive because So Sad About Gloria was lethally dull, and I'm easily amused by deliberately-paced, moody '70s horror. It was pretty-much style-free and the pacing/padding was almost more than I could take.

Gotta say I was also a little bummed that the drive-in fodder between features was so bad-looking. I expect these intermission shorts to look beat-up and faded, but not like they were yoinked from a Something Weird VHS. I'd kinda hoped for some actual HD transfers of this stuff.

Update on how God's Bloody Acre was? I'm considering getting this one.

Gods Bloody Acre one of my favs from code red archives. DF did good resto as well getting rid of most offensive green lines without harming film grain.

Thanks Titan. Wait til you see how amazing COP KILLERS looks now. We went through the trenches of hell to bring it back like this but to us it was worth every drop of blood. Probably the most violent drive-in movie ever made, watching it you can really imagine how it must've looked on the awesome giant drive-in screen. Really thrilled about this one. In replication now.

NOTHING'S HAPPENING?? You call COP KILLERS and MIRROR MIRROR 1 & 2 nothing?? The fires have been burning bright at DARK FORCE lately. And don't forget the new deluxe special edition CHAOS has been terrorizing fans worldwide. So yes the business has been good.

Dave,

Just curious (I'll be buying it regardless), but what was PROJECT KILL's transfer sourced from? Did you have to use a print or were you able to find something a little better?

Freeway 2 was a blast. Went into it not knowing what to expect and wow, it was the right idea. This film was a wild ride and the ending was bats**t crazy! Great blind buy, can't wait for Cop Killers and Mirror Mirror.

Consider yourself lucky. Best way to go into that movie is blind!

I love the scene where White Girl and Cyclona use crack rock to leave a trail to follow instead of breadcrumbs(a la Hansel and Gretel). Vincent Gallo is weirder than usual in this. The fact he plays the character very meek and subtle instead of over the top makes his character even that much weirder and unsettling.

I was not prepared for the projectile barfing scene. Truly epic!

This. I'm not a fan of these barebones double features with ugly/dull black and white artwork. Give me a standalone release loaded with extras any day of the week. God's Bloody Acre and Cop Killers definitely deserve their own releases.

Just a note to keep in mind that a large amount of Code Red standalone releases are bare bones compared to the DVDs w/extras. So just because a Code Red releases is standalone does not equal extras. In a way, this helps the DVD release retain some value despite being on an antiquated format.

That's a nice way of saying CR is lazy and cheap when it comes to carrying over extras from their DVD's.

Why should anyone care about the dvd retaining value? Leaving extras out from the blu just makes that product incomplete.

In other words if you want to resell the DVD because you dont care about the extras it will not be worthless like many DVDs are after the blu comes out.
