It’s odd. Might as well be collecting stamps or books.

How does that suck? Regardless of how you view the hobby, the more sales, the healthier the hobby.

Without those buyers, it's possible some of the content you love to the core wouldn't be made.

The OCD aspect of it sucks. No offense to those who are.

Sounds lovely.

I want to be on the show hoarders with my movie collection. unfortunately it’s too organized and useful.

There's a fine line to that. Hoarding is a mental disorder.

Very well said. Funny that I at times will enjoy a movie more the 2nd time I watch it.

Works for me. But like I said my collection is organized and useful ... so it’s not really hoarding.

Hoarding is if you collect things that you don’t use, no? I always thought that if you use the stuff you collect then you are still considered as a collector.

This is the official definition, which media can definitely be part of. I have no issue with it as long as it looks nice.

Hoarding disorder is a persistent difficulty discarding or parting with possessions because of a perceived need to save them. A person with hoarding disorder experiences distress at the thought of getting rid of the items. Excessive accumulation of items, regardless of actual value, occurs.

And that's what I'm trying not to be. That's why I don't understand why people are throwing a hissy fit over what I do with my life and how I choose to buy my movies. It's my life, why can't I do what I wish?

I don't have a spare room. I live in an apartment. But let me guess... your advice would be to move into a bigger a place?! How nice. I should spend the time and money buying and moving to a new place for the sole purpose of owning more movies!

I think it goes deeper than that. With a true passion, you always find a way. I truly believe that.

However, you have put words into my mouth then ended with a raised eyebrow emoji.

Quite hilarious.

You posted in a HT/Blu-ray forum. What do you want? A pat on the head for losing interest in film?

You already stated your interest in film is fading.

Strange why people come to a site named Blu-ray.COM and proceed to tell others they do not buy disc anymore. Enlighten us, what is your motivation? Agenda? Just trolling?

That’s silly. Films are infinitely rewatchable. Perceived doesn’t come into it.

Yeah, that’s my point. I always feel it’s justification they seek but they ain’t gonna get that here except from Alchav and the voice of the people, Cevolution.

It’s odd.

You do know that just about all you mentioned is not required for a fairly decent home theater with or without a projector. Projector/TV display, AVR, UHD BD Player, Speakers can be the basis of a very good HT.

Suspect that I have watched Blade Runner 1982 more than two dozen times at home. The first time we saw it was in a large theater and I did not much care for it. Have had it on LaserDisc, DVD, Blu-ray and now UHD Blu-ray. Love the UHD version because of the sound track remix in Dolby Atmos.

I tend to listen as much/more as watch a movie.
