i actually reconnected my cambridge that same day. i will have to wait to rehook it up and have a few days to play with it. dont have time right now to work it up yet. i will let you know, thanks

so, i got my cherry HD-SUB12 in tuesday evening, hooked it up, and well, wasn't too impressed, bass was sucking pretty bad on it. i said to myself that i would give it a few days to break in. i went ahead and recalibrated my system, and have been playing music and even watched a couple of movies on it. i only had 2 places to actually put the sub, either on the right or left of my system. i went ahead and placed it in the corner where i had my polk psw10. i plan on building a riser soon and possibly placing some poly-fill in there.

last night, this thing finally came alive and all i can say is wow, straight drummin me outta my room. i have the sub set to +1db in the onkyo and the level on the back of the sub at 60-65%.

as for music, i listen to more drum n bass, house, trance, techno than anything. i don't listen to rap hardly at all. and then i listen to rock, metal, pop. it sounds good on everything so far musically.

for movies, i only watched into the blue and blood and chocolate, which sounded good, but they were just break in material.

i did do something stupid by mistake and just caught it a few ago, hopefully it won't/hasn't damaged anything, but i had the sub cable plugged into the y adapter and had the y adapter plugged into the line out on the sub instead of the line in. i was still getting sound even though it was plugged into the line out of the sub and sounded hella good last night. i just happened to be looking at the back of the sub a few ago and noticed it was plugged into the wrong set of jacks. i promptly switched them and everything still sounds fine.

overall, i'm very very very happy with the sub. i will try and get pictures in my gallery soon.

well I understand that cambridge makes good products too, so I wouldn't be surprised if the old one still sounds better, but 2 subs are better then one...

I purchased your speaker on eBay. Going to use it with my soundbar. Made a big differance and hope it will improve with breakin.

ya its tought to give up the cambridge P1000 cause it 1000 wts and has a 10" powered and 10" passive woofer built in each side. it really is an awesome sub and the best they ever built.

so let me get this right, Im going to have to purchase a y adapter so i can hook up my subwoofer cable to both of the sub inputs on the subwoofer box?

I read that it comes with a y adpater so you can hook up 2 subs? WHy would they send one of those instead of the one you need?

so ive been reading countless reviews and i think this is the best sub for me. just placed the order in for a 10". ive read alot on tweaking the sub so ill def give those a try, im excited for my 1st home theater sub!!

a y adapter is like $1 ... they probably dont send the Y adapter because that piece is more often packed with a sub cable.... not a big deal, im sure you could pick one up at BB or RS for a few dollars

hopefully it comes around for you. i got my hd sub12 in last week and have been listening to it quite a bit. at first, i wasn't sure about it like some others have posted, but man, this thing pounds now. i have yet to poly-fill it or put it on a riser. i plan to try those this week sometime, but i'm definitely loving this sub so far.

Alright everybody ordered the aa hd12 sub on sunday and it will be here wednesday, very fast shipping. I hope i have the good experience with this sub as others have stated. They only had maple left in stock when i ordered, and all my other speakers are black but the fiance makes me hide it so it dont really matter what color it is i guess, wish it was black though. I dont know if im going to attempt to put more polyfil inside the box, but we will see how this sounds.

Im hoping for a night and a day comparison from my Yamaha sw012 considering its a HTIB sub
