Its a town called Slatington. I usually do the loop, which takes 3 hours. First hour is up the mountain, next hour along the ridge and last hour down the mountain. It has lots of parkour going up and down, inclines are around 10-15%, so its not the easiest hike. Oh yeah, and beware......black bears roam the mountain (bear spray might be a good idea).....I had a face to face encounter with one just a month ago from about 40 yards....luckily no cubs in sight, especially because it was springtime.

I think we need a quick rundown on the chicken hierarchy. While Popeyes is ok, it's just a glorified KFC. Canes and CFA still hold the top spots and it's not even close. You don't go to Canes for a sandwich. If you want a sandwich you go to CFA. If you want to slum it you go to Popeyes.

Still though imo if you get a Popeyes that is well run it doesn't come close, the Popeyes chicken samich is still king imo if made correctly. Canes is just a few tenders put on a bun to be honest.
I agree that chicken sandwich wise..Popeyes is king. A very impressive sandwich with actual pickles (ya’ll know I love me some pickles) and not thin little shavings as we see from McDonald’s and CFA.

Heh..the battle of the chicken joints. Yeah I have no reason to go after the Canes sandwich as it’s just tenders slapped on a bun. KFC is pretty solid with their signature taste but I like the Cajun style when it comes to Popeyes.

Lol i like me some Chic but that also pales in comparison to the Popeyes sandmich.

greater than....

I mean no comparison.... But you have to hit a Popeyes that is not employed by people who could give two @#@#s, that is were Chick-fila beats all of them hands down.

I just wish Chick would stop cheapening their product, they admitted to changing away from using non antibiotic free chicken due to cost and availability. You can tell as their sandwich has also shrunk a good bit over the last few years too to go along with a cheaper quality product. I do still enjoy them waffle fry's though...

Yupppp. CFA went downhill bigtime and clearly cutback on the filet size. I’ve posted this sad sandwich before but here it is again.

Dear lord. Why would you do any of that? My grandparents on my mother's side fed their dogs out of the slop bucket. Which was just leftover scraps from their meals. It did fine. This trend of feeding your dogs dog food or froufrou stuff is ridiculous. They don't need any of that and it's probably the reason dogs are getting sicker more nowadays with diseases that humans get. I never heard of dogs getting cancer growing up. Now, it's pretty common. Scraps will do just fine thank you. I would never pamper a pet.

I agree most of the bag dog food comes from crap holes like China and is literally poison for your pets. My sister and her husband make their dogs food from vegetables and meats, rice and so on. The difference in energy, attitude and especially things like their fur coat is night and day. Like humans processed foods are a big reason imo for the spike in cancer related illnesses today imo in both humans and pets.

My grandparents fed their dog leftover scraps of human food and I never thought there was anything wrong with that (I still don't). Cooking for a dog feels like overkill and unless you've done that since day one it'll be hard to get them to change from traditional dog food. I do agree, however, that traditional dog food is not ideal and should be a last resort. There are startups now that sell "healthy" cooked food made especially for canines but only the pickiest of dog owners will sign up. Most folks just feed their dogs whatever is around - at least in my experience. My sister had a dog that was addicted to chicken. If you had a piece of chicken in your hand and let your guard down even for just a moment, there was a good chance it would snatch it right out of your hand.

Finally made it home after my Friday morning-Saturday evening trip to Minnesota. About to take a break from watching LOST in the background to play a bit of video games and then cut my hair + shave before going to a 10:30 training.

This is a wild ride. I remember the story and then forgot about it. Trying not to spoil it for those unfamiliar… a few years ago the woman was back in the news. Now the husband is telling his side.

For those who don’t know…it’s literally Gone Girl in real life. Worth checking out.

Who remembers Crazy Town?

We’re going back 24 years. I was a freshman in high school and everyone had this cd. “Butterfly” being the hit single.

The lead singer, Shifty Shellshock passed away at 49 today. RIP

Wondering if Gatorade discontinued their GatorLyte line. Used to find it everywhere, but lately no store within a 80 mile radius has it in stock, and I don't want the side effects caused by regular Gatorade.

As someone who dehydrates easily in the warm weather, that stuff had the right amount of electrolytes without compromising with sucrose or whatever sweetener these companies are putting in workout drinks these days. A buddy of mine recommended LMNT, but honestly that stuff's a bit too expensive for my wallet, plus I feel like it's way too influencer-biased, pretty much every outdoors/workout YouTube/Instagram channel is sponsored by them.
I've thought about making my own homemade version; basically a teaspoon of salt and a spritz of lemon juice which sounds too simple to be effective lol
