Plus, the film said that Bruce Wayne was only Batman for maybe one year before he went into hiding, so really there wasn't any opportunity for him to have had that much damage.

The worst part of the film's concept was the idea that all of Batman's adventures must have happened in between the first film and the second - and we, the audience, didn't get to see any of it. That sucked.

Bane's voice would have fit right in, on Futurama, as an alternative voice for the Professor. "Good news everyone!" In the Batman film, it was a bit silly, but that was the least of the film's problems. The voice was memorable, and kind of grows on you. Unlike the film itself, which I tried to like.

Are you kidding me!? Bruce at the end of BB fell long distances, was dragged by a cable through shanty buildings and roofs, was thrown around, and beaten on. Then in TDK he falls out a window into a taxi, falls off a roof onto dirt and concrete, he was shot, he was beaten with a pipe, he was attacked by dogs. All the times he jumped from heights. His cape creates drag but it doesnt remove all the force of impact. And this doesnt include the stuff that happened between BB and TDK. Then lets consider the bodily damage he aquired while traveling the world and in the prison before he returned to Gotham in BB. Take all this and add 3 years of reclusivness and setting around wasting away. Its a wonder he is able to walk at all.

Of course I read it. Don't be daft. Next point of attack - my "reading comprehension"? It's just fine, thanks.

Was just going to point out the bold part.

Not to mention, Rises states that the "last confirmed sighting of the Batman" was the night Dent died. That doesn't mean he didn't do a year or two out in the field after Knight but nobody saw him. The film clearly implies that when Wayne found out what could happen to the fusion reactor (his last ditch best effort to save Gotham), he shut everything down and that's when he became a recluse.

the redubbed Bane is a huge turnoff. I saw the prologue and it sounded great, but they changed a couple things and now it sounds like they just made it VERY LOUD in comparison to the rest of the dialogue.

especially the "with no survivors" line

I thought the redub that was shown in theaters was clearer than the IMAX prologue before Mission Impossible. I prefer that over having to either read subtitles, or not understand him.

I prefer the re-dub as well.

I could not hear Bane or any of the other characters clearly in the prologue.

I don't like how clear it is in the redub, because it's unrealistically clear... but I'd rather know what all the characters are saying than just hearing a lot of muffling.

I don't think Nolan was "forced" to change it.

When you show a scene from a film several months beforehand, there's likelihood that the scene is not in its final form. And I don't consider making someone's voice so muffled that you can't understand them the same as when Nolan intentionally leaves ambiguous endings.

Was really looking forward to snagging the bat cowl edition of this on release day (don't usually pre-order movies) but now it looks like they pulled it from even purchasing online. What gives? anywhere left to still snag one?

TDKR was my favorite movie of 2012, hands down. Having said that, one thing that raised a question...Bruce W. becomes a recluse for the same amount of time the Batman is unseen...coincidence? Noone put 2 and 2 together on this one?

Blake did, but Bruce was always recluse more or less.

You may be right. If that's the case, it sold out faster than what some were predicting would be a year-end sell-out.
Perhaps the first sign that this thing was going to sell out faster than expected was when the one in the UK sold out about a month and a half ago, that seemed to be an indicator U.S. copies would start diminishing quickly because people in Europe would start buying the U.S. version now.
Then they increased it from 30,000 limited to 35,000 limited approximately a month ago and now.....?sold out?

Just pre-ordered it from bestbuy.com, just to be on the safe side.

Hopefully it'll turn out OK.

I'm just curious to know which retailer it is, because a few people wanted to know and still wanted it, but they're being vague on it.
I think it would have to be Amazon. BB has the steelbook, Target has the digibook. I thought WM had a toy version. So that would leave Amazon.

Hey if this gets cancelled on Amazon, I have no problem spending a little more from AmazonJP and getting THAT cowl edtion with a film cell. Japan always gets the best stuff!

Except that's not the case.

Wayne was a recluse for only three of those eight years. He retreated when he pulled the plug on the fusion reactor energy project.
