I bought mine yesterday at Best Buy and it has the white bar code: 883929305605 with the logo of Warner Bros next to it, can anyone help to make sure that is the remastered version ?

It is...the copy you have is the Warner reissue of the Paramount title. The faulty discs were only on the initial first pressing by Paramount.

I want to pull the trigger on get the gladiator bilingual version at futureshop because it's such a great deal right now. If I get it, would I run into the an initial release version?

It does not matter how many years have passed, there is still a possibly it will be the first release. And I cannot emphasize one thing enough, there is no, absolutely no outside indicator for the Canada releases of Gladiator. It does not matter what those in the US write about.

There is one and only one way to determine if you have the remaster and that is reading the disc with bdinfo. Anything else is mere speculation.

Warner Bros. took over distribution for Gladiator, and I'm pretty sure their versions are remastered. If you see the WB logo you should be good.
