If I would buy 25 Blu-rays per month I should be in the club in about two years.
The most frightening thing is, it's a possibility

That is very possible yes .

+ Blu-ray's are getting cheaper and if you buy boxsets, you'll get more blu-ray's in one purchase.

25 a month = about 6 per week. Less than one per day.

for Annie Hall! I love that movie! I but I'm a big Woody Allen fan.
Hope to join this club before the year ends.

There's not a thread yet, but next would be 2,500+ 3,000+ 3,500+, which some members are currently a member of.

I'm also done porting my collection over.

Some of these collections are just insane. Storage is a ***** at my level, I can't imagine what moving around 3000 discs is like.

Yeah, that's debatable. A lot of the top collections have movies in their 'owned' section that have yet to be released, or have 'no release date'

at some point it's no longer collecting, it's become hoarding.

More like Crack.... It's obsessive. Especially if you get hooked on Digibooks and Steelbooks. For example I own like 6 copies of The Dark Knight because of different cover arts, steelbooks, and store exclusives.

Which makes zero sense.

To you, perhaps. Limited Collector's Editions are aimed at "Collectors" which I would categorize myself as. I enjoy the different artwork, and cases such as the Digibooks and Steelbooks. For example I got 300, then when I saw the Digibook, I just had to have it. The Steelbook I only got because it was less that $20, and I was unaware that there was no artwork inside. T2, I owned the original release, then I bought the Skynet edition, before finding the Endoskull, which of course I wanted and eventually got when I found it. I guess it's different for every person.

You misunderstand me. I am all for Collector's Editions and what not, but blowing money on multiple copies of the exact same disc is beyond absurd. It would be like me owning the three of the exact model care with the only difference being what color they are. Absolutely pointless.

I have noticed some of that and I am not sure what that is about...whatever. I am at 1,062 with 500 more in my price tracker. I still have long ways to go; although, I would not trade my collection for anybody else's.

Thanks to the Mel Brooks collection arriving today, plus random purchases at a local sale, have now passed 1100!

I agree with this. The only reason I would double dip, as it were, would be if I had a movie, but then bough a collection that included that movie. For instance, I had The Good the Bad and the Ugly, but then bought The Man With No Name Trilogy, which included said film. Even then, I gave away my previous copy of The Good the Bad and The Ugly. The time I broke this rule was when I bought the Dark Knight steelbook, which I only did because I got it for $5, but again, I gave away my other copy of The Dark Knight.
