i didnt ignore it. This is a bluray forum, what do you expect? AVF is nuetral, so you would expect impartiality and fairness there, but thats not the case, and its not the fault of the management, its the way the members behave, reporting posts they feel are unfair to hddvd, while BD owners dont report them as often. If they did, then there would be no threads open!

This site is not for HDDVD, so that would be off topic. organized cheating of polls???? how AVS different where the HDDVD supporters always load polls one sided even if its about blu ray only.

AVF has had the same problem, remember some of the polls there, yep no difference.

This site is for the disussion of blu ray, that also means it will attract some yonger members based on PS3 ownership, we are NOT here to discuss HDDVD and at best any such discussion should be in the off topic section of blu ray.com.

AVF has members calling articule writers as biased, paid of schills, idiots, etc etc. again you tell me how different that is to this site.
Poor Bill Hunt had his name pulled thru the mud even though he was basicly correct in his assumptions as time has proved.

most sites that have format war discussion seem too lean on the childish side, just look at peckers intentions and post on avf, yes very mature i guess you missed the format war thread when the HD DVD fans were ridiculing the BD supporters, yes very mature. Shame the HD DVD children could not stand the heat themselves

This site also has great information about blu ray, somthing you dont find on AVF without the trolls decending into the threads.

If i could talk blu ray on AVF without having to defend and argue the sillyest of points i would still be posting in the AVF HD player section. sadly its too tiring to keep rehashing the same crap with Jeff, Drongo and pecker. there intentions are clear and permitted. (5 minute load times my ass)

Thankfully some parts of AVF are still of the highest quality, the projector section being one of them.

Gandley, good post. But it is beneath you that you don't acknowledge the harm that some of the posters here (generally in other threads than this one) are doing to the image of Blu-Ray and its supporters.

And it is also worth pointing out, I still haven't made a single post about either format being better than the other. I'm not a fanboy of either format, although I will admit that I currently only own one.

well the the PS3 will most likly draw some younger members who like to e-fight. the MODs have dealt with some of the offenders, every site has its content that intelligent users need to filter. Im here for the info i want about blu ray, but at the same time we do have a laugh here as well. Its a light hearted forum.

If you chat HD DVD or promote it you will be banned or suspened. even AMIR got banned from here, which was a rather good day actually.

I think that they are trying to say you can mention Blu-ray on this forum without getting shot down in flames due to it being a Blu Forum, the AVF Forum is very factual and a great site to visit but you are limited to what you can/should say before you get jumped on by the 'P Clan'....... just imo of cause

2) Because of the above, supermarkets didn't want to price cut on Spiderman 3 week one (no longer a market share gain), they ordered less of this title for week 1, and as a knock on effect SPHE didn't offer masses of coop marketing support to the supermarkets for TV adverts and the impact was lower sales, I don't remember any retailer adverts for Spiderman 3 in the UK.

This is likely to effect every major DVD release in the UK from now on IMHO.

The BD sales in the UK may have been hit as consequence, again I'll confirm later (if I get time)

There could also be the factor that Spiderman 3 was supposed to be a pretty crap story. People may go to the cinema to watch it but once word of mouth got about people may have decided its not a keeper worth buying a DVD for. CR in comaprison is a class film and worth watching again

Yes, the mods have banned a whole group of Blu-ray posters on mass. You will notice Bald Monkey knew about the mass banning and even indicated the exact time a banned member had just had his ban revoked. In other words, a HD-DVD member knows who is being banned even though he isn't a mod. Bald Monkey keeps shouting Troll and Ban whenever he dislikes a post.

Getting banned for that post is pretty outrageous IMHO

You do have a point about some of the childish posts in here. However, they are not directed at other posters as HD-DVD fanboys are banned. So nobody is offended.

Interestingly Blu-ray.com hit counts have been rising fast and are nearly approaching AVF which is increasing slowly. AVS has dropped like a stone - down 75%

In a thread in the HD DVD players section you made four trolling posts. They were your last four posts on that site. If a HD DVD fan had come onto this blu-ray site and made four trolling posts (or even one!) they wouldn't have been banned for a week. It would have been a complete ban right?

The cheating with Transformers last week got almost 90,000 supposed sales disavowed by Nielsen for cheating. Their latest "K-Mart is going HD exclusive" just today that has been disavowed, with the exec specifically citing deceptive statements by Toshiba

Or is it in grand HD fasion simply "good strategy" until you get caught?

The fact that you haven't been banned yet should show you that unlike those people who trademarked the term "fair and balanced", we don't just ban you because you're a well known HD fanboy from another forum, and that we wait for you to hang yourself, which shouldn't be long given your history over there
