Just saw it now for the first time. The fighting, while wayyyy over dramatic at times, is fantastic as well. The movie is definitely a lot of fun and I'd absolutely watch it again. |

Ha ..I re-watched every Silat combat sequence two more times once I finished this one. I hadn't been that amped up over a film since the Wu/Yen alley fight in SPL! It's brutal and nasty and the shooting, editing and fight choreography were all something else. Yeah, some of the fight scenes went on a little too long and are over the top but shit, when I watch a film like this I want to see blood shed and bat shit insane fights!! Go Mad Dog! |

That HK release uses Dolby's new "96kHz advanced upsampling" tech, wherein the original studio audio track (which is 48 khz, 16 or 24 bit), is resampled at 96khz. Google around and read up on it yourself, but the thing is no about of digital tinkering can add data that isn't there to begin with. It's roughly comparable to upscaled video. Only an audio track originally recorded at 96khz will truly benefit from a 96khz rendering. I personally say buy the US disc with confidence, especially since I'm pretty sure it has the better extras package and more viewing options (original + Mike Shinoda score etc), but just my suggestion.

On the cover it states "30 floors of Hell" but the apartment building had about 15 floors. Where are the other 15 floors? I'm confused. Am I missing something?
Entertaining movie but just way too over-the-top for me. It was the little things that usually don't bother me but are so pervasive throughout this movie that it did bother me. Last edited by beefytwinkie; 11-25-2012 at 10:18 PM. |

Blind bought this expecting a 'Hard Boiled' type extravaganza. Nowhere near that film, too much martial arts not enough gun play. Oh and I do love films such as Ong Bak etc.
Good but won't be watching again for a long time. |
