The current BD is very bad (except the IMAX sequence).
Now, exist the right master. Warner must be use this master and combine with the IMAX sequence for create the best master possible.
Inception is a great example of BD that don't uses a DI master, but a 4k master came from a interpositive.

For the aspect ratio question: warner can be use a similar method like "diney view". In this case the user chooses if watch the film in 2.35 or shifting the AR.
I think WB should make a new master by rescanning the 35 mm and IMAX interpositives. The same thing should be done for Batman Begins.

Because everyone will inevitably come to share your opinion in the end. It is known.

I disagree. I liked it more the second time I saw it than I did at the midnight premier. I actually think it's better than The Dark Knight.

I didn't like it at all the first time I saw it. But I liked it much more the second time around. However, I will say it wasn't as enjoyable as the first two films and I think a LOT of if is because this is the first time Batman has been a finite character.

By that, I mean having a beginning, middle and end. That hasn't been done before with this character so it made the film seem a bit more foriegn to me is all. As for the last 60 to 70 years we've never see Batman have an ending, he just continues on. But that is just me. Other than that, it is certainly a fine film and I will own it.

I kind of agree with the guy above, I liked TDKR alright the first time I saw it, I liked it a lot less the second time.
When you know the plot, the movie starts to feel bloated, with lots of scenes featuring secondary characters that don't really contribute anything in the grand scheme of things except slow it down. This could easily be a 2-hour film and it'd be stronger for it.

The film got even better for me after the first time because I wasn't comparing it to TDK anymore. Nolan's Batman films are great because they're each very unique. I'm not sure honestly whether I prefer TDK or TDKR, but the latter gets better and better each time I see it.

I just came across this post. Without reading all of them. Is there going to be plans for a exclusive Steelbook for this or too soon to know?

I would love to buy this when it comes out but I will probably I will just ask for it for Christmas since it is being released in December. Though for Christmas I am planning to buy my brother the The Batman Trilogy. He has always ready seen Batman Begins and The Dark Knight so I am going to get those two plus the Dark Knight Rises so he can have them all.

I wouldn't call him not smart for not liking DKR. That's a valid opinion, even if I don't share it. I might consider him not smart because he writes like a third grader.

Nothing is confirmed at this early point, but you can probably count on a SB!

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=48959 -- here is a thread for discussing the film. In this particular thread, only the Blu ray release should be discussed.

Brent... Whatever is a perfect example of a troll. Obviously sense he is now suspended. Your opinion is fine but to just flat out say the movie sucks or randomly come in and say "I hated this movie" Thats trolling. Its just ppl wanting to start an argument...(Again) Cause they already expressed there feelings in the Thread about the movie. We dont need to hear it again in the Blu Ray thread.

I'm really hoping so. I would like to add it to my collection. Just picked up Batman Begains and The Dark Knight both on SB a few weeks ago. This would be a nice to add. Even though I have not seen the movie yet. Wife didn't want to see it at the theaters but willing to wait and watch the Blu.

You and about a few thousand other people, myself included are hoping for a SB to complete the trilogy. Yeah, I don't think the studio is going to overlook that! We'll probably get a single SB and a whole trilogy SB. Seems like the US(Best Buy in particular, followed by Target) is finally catching on to the little fact that fans like steelbooks!
Yeah I missed it in the theatre too...even the wife jokingly, over this past weekend, mentioned getting a babysitter to go see this in the theatre! Probably should've jumped at the chance, but there were too many good sporting events on TV!

For everyone one wanting a remaster of the first two. Don't count on it. It's Warner Brothers. It seems they do as little as possible to make as much money as possible. Hopefully this will get the same treatment as The Dark Knight and Inception. With 2 discs, one just for extras. I hope it gets the imax scenes like the dark knight and the Trailer/TV Spot/Poster Gallery and menu of inception. Lately Warner Brother seems to be throwing disc menus together very cheaply. Like they would rather just be selling movies through digital download. Sure Universal has worse presentation for movies, but WB is getting to be pretty bad too. But hopefully The Dark Knight Rises will get special treatment and have great everything.

As noted in the article itself, the image below the announcement is fake.
