I've been to the Drafthouse 71 times in the 3 years I've lived here. And it's a good 30 minute drive from where I live. That's how much I love it. If I have an option of seeing a movie at Alamo, I'll see it there 100%. I only go to other theaters if they're showing something different.

I've only had issues if I arrive to the theater like 5 minutes before a big movie starts on opening weekend. Most indies or smaller/lesser known films don't sell out. I have no problem getting to the theater 20-30 minutes early and getting tickets then.

And I've never been a member of the AMC loyalty program, so that won't really matter to me. If I'm not going to one of the Landmark theaters, SIE, or Alamo...I'm going to either Harkins 18 or United Artists 9 on Colorado. I can't remember the last time I went to an AMC theater.

Also, just reserved my E-Ticket for The Hitman's Bodyguard at AMC Arapahoe Crossing for tonight. This is why I love MoviePass already. I didn't really have interest in seeing this movie at all, definitely not something I would have spent money to see. But it beats sitting at home doing nothing all night, so why not?

(Want to see Logan Lucky, but waiting for my roommate on that one).

Had to deal with some rude people who were in our seats thought. They bought tickets for the 7pm show instead of the 4. Even after they found that out, they still thought they the right to sit there. The nerve some people..

We live in Denver and have an extra feature to moviepass, where we don't need the moviepass card. We simply go in the app and pick the movie and where we want to sit, and we get a confirmation number to get the ticket at the theater.

Yup, E-Ticket. Reserved it and did everything from my desk at work. Nowhere near 100 yards from the theater. Pretty awesome feature.

I sure wouldn't just let them have it. I hope you went and got someone to make them move. After all, whomever took their tickets also messed up by even letting people with 7pm tickets into the 4pm show.

My family all goes to bed about 9pm, and I don't work until almost midnight. My buddy and I usually play videogames online during that window each night, but with MoviePass, we might just go check out a flick several nights a week instead, and I will see far more movies in theaters that I otherwise would have just waited for Netflix or checked out from library or whatever.

P.S. I really enjoyed Hitman's Bodyguard. It's a lot of fun.

But for now they have made AMC my permanent choice.

Only negative to the e-ticket system is it doesn't allow the AMC loyalty to be added. It only works if you use the card to buy at the box office. unless someone knows a different way.
With the deal you're getting I'd probably not even care about loyalty points.

Straight from the horses mouth, CEO Mitch Lowe, with an interview from Yahoo: https://www.yahoo.com/movies/moviepa...220643890.html

Quote:
Were you concerned about AMC’s reaction?

Lowe: The fascinating thing is we use a MasterCard debit card. We pay full price for the tickets we buy. We comply fully with the rules of MasterCard and AMC has signed agreements with both their credit card processor and with MasterCard to comply with all the rules. They would essentially have to not take MasterCard in order to block us. I don’t think you can cancel that agreement without severe penalties. I think it was all bluster. But this was the last thing we would have wanted for what we hope to be a partner. We want to reinvigorate people going to AMC theaters. It’s the largest theater chain. It’s the place where the bulk of our customers go the most often. We really want to be their partner. I’m assuming we’ll get through this and then we’ll sit down at a table and figure out how to help each other.
For now I wouldn't worry about AMC backing out. As others have said, they also can't instruct employees to not accept the MP card. They can't accept some MasterCard cards and not others without violating their contract with MasterCard. They have to accept all MasterCard cards. There is nothing AMC can do for now.

Don't forget, if you are a Stubs member you can still get you Stubs points by going to the box office and having them scan your "stubs card" when buying your ticket with the MP card. I'm gonna rack up some nice stub points using this service which will help pay for concessions. Going from around 7 movies a year to maybe 6 or 7 per month means many more points! I mean, I'll go see stupid movies now just because I can.

I really don't give a damn about this whole thing. I go to the theater only a few times a year. This thing would be a complete waste for me.

That's too bad. Going to the movies is the best thing a movie fan can do.

Yeah, I would actually use this to be able to go to the theater more often then I do now. This is a great opportunity to do so at the moment.

How did you do this Jacob?

I signed up a few nights back and haven't received my card yet. Have you got your card?

I have many theaters around me that do e-tickets. Did you book without the card when you got to the theater?

I'm going to the theater tonight. I wonder if it will show up as option before I have card?

E-ticketing is Boston and Colorado only. When it expands, I'd consider getting this, since I have to get tickets ahead of time at my favorite theaters for optimal reserved seating.

Could someone who has this see if it works at Malco Theaters in Memphis? Not really interested in signing up for the service & giving them all my info just to check if I can actually use it. Their FAQ says to check the list of theaters on the website, but damned if I can find it.
