Legion falls to a new series low, hitting a rounded 0.2 for the first time ever.

Saw this on /r/television and thought it would be worth posting here.

Man, that’s a bummer about the ratings. Hopefully they pick up some next week. I don’t want to see this show canceled yet.

This series seems like it's had next to no marketing around it. It's like they're trying to finish it off.

Well, it is a Fox property afterall... and we know how Fox treats their stuff. Honestly I think them being trippy just to be trippy might be turning people off to the show a little.

I'm glad the Lenny stuff was addressed, that was something I posted about after having watched all of s1 without waiting 8 weeks. Seems like Farouk has the legion ability to bring multiple personalities along, they should've kept that a David thing or what's the point of it being called "Legion" but whatever, at least they filled in that plot hole.

The thing about Syd's ability that makes no sense is when she swaps bodies back, why do the bodies switch physical positions? That makes no sense!

Once it hits Hulu, will viewer ratings be calculated in?

I don't really watch TV on the air so I dunno about commercials but I go to the movies 1-3 times per weekend and I've seen ads for this season during the preshow of almost every screening

The season premiere had an advantage because it played right after the network premiere of Deadpool. They aired Transformers 4 before the most recent episode, a movie that I like but not too many people do. So perhaps less people tuned in to FX as a result.

Is that even still a 'thing'? I never understood why Nielsen thinks people don't know what clocks and remotes are to be able to change a station to watch what you want to watch at a certain time, or change away from something you don't.

It's almost as annoying as people saying watch this show and that show so it doesn't get cancelled like everybody's got a say when only people who have a Nielsen box or whatever actually matter to the networks lol

I’ll take those 15 mins. from Navid Negahban as Farouk over pretty much every villain from this decade’s superhero outputs.

Oh, and Aubrey Plaza and Rachel Keller... mama mia!

For those hoping episodes of S2 would eventually be available on Hulu (like I was), I wouldn't get your hopes up on them being added anytime soon, at least not going by what is said in this article...

When Will ‘Legion’ Season 2 Be On Hulu?

Here's the main part of the article:

Quote:
As Decider’s Kayla Cobb reported back in July of 2017, FX shows are notoriously difficult to stream. FX has the full streaming rights to current seasons of its shows for a month and a half after a finale, which means there’s a substantial delay when it comes to their shows premiering on Netflix or Hulu.

For instance, Atlanta aired its Season 1 finale on November 1, 2016. It took until the middle of September 2017 for the season to debut on Hulu since it was in a blackout zone (meaning the season was only available through VOD and home entertainment). Keeping with that trend, a representative from FX told Decider that the second season of Legion wouldn’t be available to stream on Hulu for “some time.”

Going off the Atlanta model, if Legion Season 2 concludes on May 29, you shouldn’t expect to see the series on Hulu until mid-2019.
I'm guessing this is all because of their new streaming service FX+, which is apparently the only place you can stream S2 of Legion (with a cable TV provider log-in, or for $5.99 per month). It seems the only reason Legion S1 was/is on Hulu is because they made a deal with them (Hulu) for it (and some other shows) before they started FX+

However, I did just discover that you can watch episode 1 (of season 2) on VUDU right now for free, but only if you own one of the X-Men films (on VUDU)...

I checked The Wolverine, Days of Future Past, First Class, and obviously X2, and they all show it as an option in the bonus features (I didn't check any others, but I'm assuming it's an option on them all).

I love the show, but it's certainly not geared towards the average viewer. You have to erase your mind of everything and sit and watch with no distracts, and even then sometimes you may find yourself saying "Wait... what is going on again?"

That said, I certainly hope it doesn't get canceled. But I also think it will likely only need one more season.

I am not surprised at the ratings. You can only throw sh#t against the wall for so long before you lose the fans. I love the X-Men Universe and watched the entire first season. But this show is junk. It needs to use less mood altering scenes and spend time on a better story.

And I love movies or shows that don't just hand you the story. But this is too much in the other direction.

Fox already has Noah Hawley working on writing and directing a film based off the Marvel villian Dr. Doom. He has another feature in the works at Fox Searchlight; Pale Blue Dot. There's speculation that his Dr.Doom film will lead to another attempt at a Fantastic Four feature. I think this show will end with season 2 but Marvel/Fox/Disney are keeping him busy.

Yeah, I'm digging it too. I like The Expanse just a bit more, but Legion is a lot of fun, if you're good with just letting it go wherever it wants.

I hope the show gets a third and final season as I love it, but looks like it could end up being cancelled with those ratings. Not a huge shock as shows like this are very niche. Similar to last years Twin peaks

The Twin Peaks revival wasn't as good as the original Twin Peaks run -- just as Legion Season 2 has so far not been as good as Legion Season 1.

It's all about balancing the weird with a good story. Weird for the sake of weird can only go so far.

yep. Thats how I felt about ep.1 of this season. Trippy just to be trippy. Ep2 kind of got back on back and I thought it was really good. 3 was better than 1 but not as good as 2

Loved season 1
