Since I am region free and don't watch dvd anyway, I won't likely request a replacement. I bought this set as a blind buy, however, and I couldn't be happier with this release. This movie is bananas in the same fun way that Pieces is. I had a really fun time having a laugh at the dialogue and some of the kills. It ain't mediocre, and it ain't cranberry sauce.

I know that I am in the minority, but I did not care for this.
Is this better or worse than Pieces?

This film is definitely divisive which is why I was weary on it initially. I think my buddies podcast tore it apart too. I think pieces is superior but I had an unexpected positive response. I feel like halfway through shooting there was a self awareness of how bad it was so the filmmakers and cast just had fun. At least I hope so.

They definitely did, or at least Louise Lasser was having fun with the material. I've read comments and reviews that rip her performance apart, but I don't think they realized the kind of humor she was known for. It's obvious how self aware it all was when she was pouring her glass of wine and later when she's pounding on the glass door.

For reference, here she is on Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman. Don't tell me something like this is far off from several of her telephone scenes in Blood Rage:

What exactly is required under proof of purchase? I threw my receipt away not too long after I got this, so all I have is just the set itself.

Same here, and it was stuck inside a sturdy Jewel case. That's far better than the usual "just stick it in a thin paper sleeve" method that most studios use for disc replacements.

It's not exactly defective per se, just a region coding flub. That's really the sole difference between the discs. If you can play Region 2 discs on an all-region player then you wouldn't even notice... it's the same exact content as the replacement DVD (both are NTSC).

They ask for a proof of purchase like a scan of the receipt, or a screengrab of the online receipt or order details. You might be able to just take a pic of your set and attach it to the email.

Hmm. I'd say Blood Rage is a more polished endeavour, though not necessarily "better". It lacks the brazen what-the-hell-did-I-just-see character of the more loony Pieces.

As straight-up slasher fare, Pieces (the U.S. version anyway) might be a bit too zany. It's never boring though, and it's got Christopher George doing his Christopher George thang, and there's no shortage of blood. There are also priceless moments of the bizarre scattered throughout, "serious" moments that evolve into comedy, and comic moments that just seem surreal.

Had them hold it for me so I can go pick it up in a few hours.

Does anyone know if buy Blood Rage and The Mutilator from DiabolikDVD, will they ship Blood Rage now then ship The Mutilator out when it releases or would they ship both out together when The Mutilator releases.

They give you the option ( there is a little box you check or uncheck to have everything shipped together ).

Finally got around to watching this tonight and I must say I loved every minute of it. Great gore, and that SCORE is unbelievably good! Also received a reply back today regarding the replacement DVD which was nice.
