I want the opposite. I want a company to come along and do premium releases of super art-house, indie, and unheard of films.

This is absolutely horrible! I love Plain because they release films that no other company would even look at. Small indies and foreign language films, documentaries etc. And now they are doing something like this?!? I get that it is not like they are moving completely on these kinds of films but if it is super popular, then who knows. Maybe i'm being a bad person but I hope that this doesn't do that well...

The Plain Archive and Selective lines are entirely separate. Wishing for it to fail is just wishing for Plain to make less or lose money which could stop them from acquiring films for the Archive line

If y'all don't want the Plain Selective big budget movies, then don't buy them and keep going for the smaller films their main line, which they've said is still their priority, is releasing

Personally no part of me wants to own T5 so I won't, and I don't intend on buying all Selective releases like I do Archive, but I am excited to see what else they release and if it's a movie I love I might go for it

Yeah I get that they are separate. Of course I want Plain to succeed and all, but I just meant that if they realise that this is extremely successful, their focus might drift more towards Plain Selective. This is obviously just me being paranoid and everything is going to be just fine

La Fille Sur Le Pont steelbook, where are you?
Lü cha, where are you?
Sassy Girl, where are you? (not the crap 'murican remake, but the Korean original - 엽기적인 그녀)

That's definitely not a super art-house, indie, nor unheard of film

I don't remember if you're part of the FB group or not (I can never remember real names to usernames), but I just made the decision to not be a completionist before the last pre-order. Just can't keep up financially. Here's my post about it:

[Show spoiler]Well guys, think the end of a short lived era is upon me. I've been struggling for a while now, inside my head, on if collecting every version of every release is the right thing for me. And I gotta say, I think I'm about to bow out. As of now, I have every release of every spine number, minus the 1/4 steelbooks, and Design B of Rust & Bone. With the next pre-order approaching fast, I think I've finally made up my mind to skip on these releases. This will be the first pre-order I've missed since ZD30's Quad-pack. I simply cannot justify spending this type of money on films I either flat out don't like (Foxcatcher) or have no interest in (Om Shanti Om). I've got other hobbies and collections, and the time has come to be a little more picky with the blu-rays I purchase. I''ll still be ordering release that I really enjoy, but from here on out, I won't be a completionist. Have fun and good luck on those low numbers tonight!

For people more interested in Tinker Ticker, a synopsis from AsianWiki:

Quote:
Park Jung-Gu (Byun Yo-Han) keeps failing to land a job. His only pleasure is to make homemade bombs. He hopes that someone will use bombs and mails them out to people he thinks may find the bombs useful. Nobody uses the bombs. One day, Hyo-Min (Park Jung-Min), filled with dissatisfaction with world, appears in front of Jung-Gu. Hyo-Min is willing to detonate Jung-Gu's bomb.
Also, a slightly spoilery review of the film from The Hollywood Reporter.
