if the villain had super powers like the Incredibles family or the freeze guy, would Mr Incredible still have been as dismissive?

They need to add a better eye roll emote on the site for crap like this.

why are there no heroes in the movie that are like Syndrome but without the evil part? why do the heroes all have to have a power they were born with? Why dont any of the heroes have to earn their super-hero label? the movie feels exclusionary to me.

To expand on point one -- Throughout the entire film, Mr. Incredible struggles to do everything by himself, which is why he gets in trouble. He likes to work alone, not because he's better than anyone else, it's just the way he works. Which I don't see as elitism, rather his own stubbornness. It is ONLY after he collaborates and relies on others, like his family, Cypher, and Frozone that they are able to succeed.

The elitist topic still perplexes me. This shows the special people trying to do normal things. Even before they get cast out, Elastigirl and Mr. Incredible get married. They then go on to have three kids. They are trying their best to lead normal lives.

Even when leading these normal lives, Robert and Lucius, run around as vigilantes trying to use their abilities to save lives. Again, that's not what I would call elitist thinking.

Sophie the Giraffe is for kids. Incredibles is a family film, aka for adults too. Just because something is animated doesnt mean it's just for kids.

Everything about this comment is the worst. I love the movie but this attitude is the way you're defending it? Ugh.

My problem with the movie is that truly normal folks can never be considered super. It feels aristocratic. Ratatouille says, "Not everyone can be a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere." Incredibles, to me, is exclusionary. Syndrome is made to look like a wanna-be, like an imposter.

Seven Samurai is one of my favorite movies, and I'd consider it elitist if
[Show spoiler]the farmers weren't allowed to fight or if Kukichyo were banished after the samurai find out he's really a farmer
.

All I have ever owned is the vhs and full screen dvd of this movie. So anything has got to be better than those.

I don't think Cars 3 had a 4K release in the UK... There was a 3D but not a 4K afaik.

I think there was a moment where Mr. Incredible sincerely apologizes and realizes how his treatment of Buddy could have been better.

I understand the impulse to understand Syndromes point of view (which helps make a good villian), however, it should probably be remembered that Syndrome hunted down and killed Supers, to the point of even trying to kill Mr. Incredible' s wife and children.

And, his goal wasn't to use his great intellect to help people, it was purely about getting even.

His goal was chaos and his method was murder. There is really not a lot that is redeemable about Syndrome.

I see this disagreement to just be further validation of the strength and quality of the film. This is an animated family film, but it still has us thinking on a higher level regarding the characters and their motives. That's probably a testament to the general level of quality that Pixar strives for in their movies (not all of them, but the vast majority of them).

Please don't gimp the audio. The blu-ray has such an amazing sound stage, it'd be a shame for them to clamp the EQ and dynamic range.
